so who are we thinking is playing drums here?   dillard?
me thinks nay.

Yay.

wow. it's.. different from other 1983 stuff. in a MELVINS way.

It is different. And weird.  And really good.  I fucking LOVE this song.

indeed.

there's an off-kilterness to it.  it works.

Dillard has probably gotten a bit of his Melvins groove back after being out of the band for so long...slowly but surely then Melvinsyness oozes back in.

He might have been out of the band for a while, but he's been drumming the whole time he was gone.  The first batch of new songs was very reminiscent of the 83 days, but he has more chops than just straight ahead drumming.  He's really good.  This last batch of stuff will show that he can do more than boom tap, boom boom tap.

It's hard for anyone to compete with Dale, but I've loved the 1983 output so far.
Damn it's easy to be a Melvins fan.

I agree. While Dillard's style is more straight ahead than Dales he is still a good drummer. I am also loving Dale on bass, especially on "American Cow" The 83 lineup is almost like a cool Melvins super bonus round robin of awesomeness!!! I hope both songs are on that Gaylord 12" cover they posted on facebook tonight! I have a feeling that I will be spending a lot of money at the merch table when I see them in July.

Los ticka toe rest

I'll admit I expected this.   what I am hearing is something entirely different.. in a good way.

It's a silkscreen though - thats what really confuses me.
IT's not a photo file as far as I can tell. There's grain in it.
If it's fan art it's a lot of work to make a silkscreen and print it
on card stock just for a laugh.

There's only grain in the cardboard. The artwork on top of it looks completely flat. Even for a scanned image, it looks too clean.
I think it's a digital thing pasted onto the photo.
And the lines are too round, it looks like vector artwork. HAZE XXL does real linocut.

I recently watched that russian interview video, I don't understand why is nobody talking about the last part where Buzz says that apparently they're going to compile all those smaller limited edition releases in a Melvins 1983 album.

Here it is, around 10:50-->

MELVINS Interview by OFFSTAGE TV
It's been removed (why?) :(
Anyone got a copy of that?

anaconda

Strange that its been removed! At the very end Buzz talks about a new
Melvins 83 album to commemorate their 30th Anniversary! Much like
the image I found on the Melvins tumblr?????  :-k :-k :-k :-k

Oh heck yes!

Melvins have done more the past 2 years than lots of bands have done in 20 years!
I got the shits real bad.
