Seriously: What`s ugly or not is subjective. People who brand other people as ugly has a huge problem. Insecure,
undeveloped conform sheep with nothing to offer society. This "the ugliest band in rock"-thing is somewhat different.
Neither Ole Ivars, Turboneger, Uriah Heep, Beach Boys or Dee Snyder are ugly, but everyone understand what the intention is. They are "ugly" not ugly, if you know what I mean. Schnabel prefers much rather the lads from Ole Ivars than plastic-faces from Hollywood, to put it that way. And just to come out as a real softy: It`s the inside that counts!

And anyway, atleast the Melvins aren't one of those bands that are more focused on image than the music itself. But i really wouldn't refer to them as ugly.
