yeah, from where i was(in front of buzz) the mixture of: his slightly hairy face, his hair, his dress and shorts, his bass, his facial expressions, and his dance, it all came together to form one of THE weirdest people i have ever seen in my life.  and that says a lot.

Finally was able to bounce down the show. If you're interested in an uncompressed copy let me know and we'll see what we can work out. Otherwise, you'll just have to download the mp3's off of the site. Will be posting shortly. Here is a sample:

Thanks for making the mp3s available! Would it be possible to provide an lossless version on bit torrent? (via. www.sharingthegroove.com? Is there any way that I could help make that happen?

I haven't used that yet, but I'll check it out, let you know and if I need any help then I'll let you know. The entire recording is about the same quality...there are a few times that the level clipped or something because there is a slight distortion. Other than that it turned out great. I'll post an update here or if you want you can just eMail me. Goto http://www.lastfallsbutcher.com and click on the text.

This is for the dood who wanted to know what the shows were like "back then" when lorax was on Bass.  Well!  let me tell you!
The melvins were Truly Epic.  Lorax was almost statue like, she seemed tall and had an American indian look about her.  my first show jan-93 Rkcndy - seattle, was such a mind blowing event for me, anyway I was only 2 or 3 people back from the stage - right in front of her, she was wearing this very long brown leather coat ( it was cold!) and the coat had all these "mystical"? symbols sewn on to it.  Anyway her and Buzzo would just start playing these long endless drones that seemed to go on forever (this wasa the sludge era) low bass notes and every so often Buzzo would just explode - and My oh My - believe me - he did completely blow shit away that night.  Incredible.  They Played two long sets as i remember.
So 3 or was it four nights later i drove down to portland oregon to  see the show one more time at La Luna, and once again it was Epic.
i loved that version of the band - i think only the present version with kevin is the equal or maybe even better.  But most definitely much Different with Kevin on Bass.  Kevin is a pretty Creative guy - Look at HAT- Lorax never showed me that kind of creativity, But she was so Rock solid and Buzzo and dale would both play off of her.
That show in portland was the last time i saw lorax.  She was Truly Epic.  i swear.  don't listen to these people who say she was a "junkie"  and Buzzo had to help her shoot up and all that.  pure hype.  That Buzzo he's so mischevious!
