Melvins Baltimore, Maryland The Ottobar 15 August 2008

This is a review my brother wrote:

Melvin's at the Ottobar 8-15-08, Baltimore Maryland

We arrived at the Ottobar around 8:30. We were surprised to find that the club was not open.
They did have an upstairs bar however so we went into a back door by the stage. Before walking up the steps we looked in the main club and saw Buzz and Dale talking by the merchandise area.
We went upstairs and had a few National Bohemian beers for $2. The upstairs bar was not crowded at all.
Most likely people don't know it exists. I have seen at least a dozen shows at the Ottobar and didn't know it was there.  As we sat upstairs we could hear the band downstairs starting their sound check.
This was at 9:15. I think I sent you a text message to get your ass on over to Baltimore.
We could hear the sound check from upstairs very clearly. They ran through "Civilized Worm" and about two others. We went down stairs and took a picture.
Around 10:00 we headed out of the upstairs bar and around to the front door of the club.
They had just begun letting people inside and a long line had formed down the alley.

I attended. I was right above Jared on the balcony smooching with the BF most of the night.  Weird guy was next to me who wanted to buy me beer and I chatted up two cute guys at the merch table who just came for Big Biz. Melvins played My Generation by the Who and closed with an awesome droned-out version of Boris. Everything else was really off Nude with Boots

We even ran into this guy who told us he named his kid "Melvin, Tool" Nobody believed the fucker until he whipped out a Social Security card and photo.
