I'm not huge on gpt and Ozma mainly becuase i prefer the Melvins with a 'cleaner' sound if that makes sense. Adding extra structure like that could be really cool.

My opinion is that GPT and OZMA are the Melvins masterpieces considering what someone else said about their young age and limited experience with their intruments when these albums were recorded.

Amen. I'm a big Melvins and I love everything they've done, but whenever I put on Gluey I cannot help but wondering what must have going on during those jams, as everthing is so brutal, insane, complex, tricky and beautiful. And I don't think I will ever stop wondering and appreciating.

Do they know how good those albums are? Do they know how they are regarded among us? It seems like they don't think they are that great.

Do they know how good those albums are?

It's hard to tell, as they see know how they have evolved and become better players.

When asked about the opportunity to play Houdini live Buzz was grateful Ozma wasn't requested.

It would have been too much like work.

anaconda

ya, he says playing that album now would be too much like solving math problems and equations.

They are writing songs now, instead of avant-garde poetry.

I go through different musical phases too, but whenever I come back to my Melvins albums they always impress, usually for a different reason than before.

As heavy bands go, the Melvins are awesome.

Mad Arab

He is lazy. He created these math problems known as GPT and Ozma. Sounds like to me he doesn't want to reaquaint himself with those songs except for a few of them.

(the) Razor

I just hope we get another super heavy melvins album in the not too distant future. Been a decade since Maggot.  :P

(A)SA was only two years ago.  That one wasn't heavy enough for you?

Cause I have a hard time NOT throwing myself around the room listening to that album.  Pure Rock ENERGY!!!
