IT SEEMS THAT MYSTERY 100 LOT OF THE HYDRA HEAD MELVINS A SENILE ANIMAL 4XLP RELEASE HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED.  IT IS LIMITED BLACK VINYL !!
THE ONLY WAY YOU COULD GET ONE WAS IF YOU WERE ON CHEL'S EMAIL LIST AT HYDRA HEAD.  HE SENT OUT A NOTICE AND YOU HAD TO SUBMIT A EMAIL TO A SPECIAL MELVINS EMAIL AT HYDRA HEAD AND THEN THEY TOOK ALL THE NAMES THEY RECEIVED OVER THIS LAST WEEKEND(actually the 13th 14th) AND DREW 100 NAMES FORM A HAT. IF YOUR NAME WAS DRAWN YOU HAD A CHANCE TO PURCHASE ONE OF THESE HYPER LIMITED SETS. ONLY 100 MADE!!  I BELIEVE THE VINYL BREAKDOWN FOR THIS RELEASE IS AS FOLLOWS.. CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG < 3000 TOTAL COPIES>  100 BLACK VINYL, 300 CLEAR/SMOKE VINYL, 600 DARK BLUE/CLEAR VINYL, 1000 PEACH, OLIVE, YELLOW,DARK BLUE VINYL, 1000 YELLOW/BLUE VINYL

No, you had to send an email to Hydrahead last week, or the week before.  Sometime anyway.  It's to late now, so it doesn't matter.

I'm not totally sure how that email list sorta thing went down, all I know is I was sent a email from the mail guy at HydraHead named Chel basically explaining that if you wanted a copy of the 100 black set you had to send a email to melvins@hydrahead dot com requesting your name to be drawn from a hat of names. You had to send the email between the days of sat/sun Dec 13th/14th and the drawing was to be on Monday 15th.  I'm not sure how they went about choosing who to send emails to with this information, it only makes since that it would be previous buyers from HydraHead. It's kinda strange though, originally (the time of the 4xLp release) I had bought a multi colored set(peach/olive ect) thinking that the clear dark blue HydraHead exclusive sets were sold out and a week later I reread the Hydra head blog where it said if you wanted a dark blue clear set you had to email Chel directly, I emailed him and sure enough I was able to get a dark blue clear set.  I am not sure if it was because I had emailed Chel directly for the dark blue set that I got on his email list or what.. but it seems you had to be on some type of list of emails to even get a chance at getting one of these 100 black sets since they never officially announced this whole thing.. I think I am the first person to discuss this on this board, though I am not sure.. I have not searched the whole board for this subject. I don't think there is discussion of the 100 mystery set.  It's weird because it's almost like a secret or something.

thanks that would be the place to read about it, somehow I did not see those comments..  if you notice only a handful of people were discussing it. It just seems as if not that many people even new about it .. maybe everyone did know, I just thought there would be a separate post or something with a lot more discussion. I still have not read a post with anyone actually having the record and talking about. Hopefully my copy arrives tomorrow and I can see for myself. I'm stoked! I'll post pics

yeah it's very excited, and not calm.  I won't be able to post pics until after the new year since my UPS delivery is now rescheduled on Jan 2 (taking 11 days, it shipped the 23rd)    if anyone else has photos of this HYPER limited gem please post.
