Yeah, Electroretard sucks.
Ill pretend you were joking.
I havent seen this much useless shit talking posts in a while! calm down people!
I think a melvins dub record is very do-able. dale crover is the reason. awesome idea ministry... and one that I have pondered on for some time now. but maybe your delivery was a bit off.

No need to pretend. I WAS joking. I was responding to the artist formally known as Fart Lips when he said remix albums are crappy because that means the original song didn't work in the first place. Some remix albums are crappy, depending on the remixers interpretation of it, but not all remix albums are bad.

Tipping The Lion was remixed on Electro-retard. The original version on Stag is one of the Melvins best songs in my opinion.

I hope you sleep better knowing this. I'm sorry you misunderstood. :)
I had a feeling you were joking! tipping the lion on stag is amazing, I agree... I love the back and forth guitar playing mark and buzz do on that song.

Wow. I'm seriously wondering how this thread got to be ten pages long.

Because Dub, Scientist, Melvins, Jamaica and Sly & Robbie rule.

I hope this helps.

are we talking about the same band?

its MELVINS, MELVINS.   M, E, L, V, I, N, S.
this site is themelvins.net.

Well that's what people said about Godflesh. They said to me "Fiend....this is Godflesh...G.O.D.F.L.E.S.H".....and I said....."yeah and Justin Broadrick isn't a pussy......only pussy's DON'T release Dub albums".....and no longer than a few months later we had Godflesh "Songs Of Love & Hate In Dub".

Now if Buzzo, Dale & co aren't pussies they'll release a killer Dub album (Bootlicker was close although the bass wasn't PHATT enough and there was no reverb and echo action)..............if they ARE pussies they won't release a killer Dub album.

Anyone here that would prefer Melvins not to release a Dub album is obviously a raging cracker ass cracker closet homosexual with waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many Iron Maiden, Metallica & Nirvana albums.

that might be my favorite godflesh album.

Yeah "SOLAH In Dub" is definately a beast. My fav Godflesh album is easily the Dubs daddy "Songs Of Love & Hate", simply because of the song "Gift From Heaven". The way that monster builds up and up then drops into that slow pounding heavy ass dubwise hip hoppy beat along with that funky ass skull crushing riff is pure class. The album SOLAH has such a warm phatt organic sound to it and songs such as "Hunter", "Gift From Heaven", "Time Death & Wastefulness" & "Frail" make it essential. After hearing that album it was no wonder Broadrick created a Dub of it. Infact I'd say that Godflesh album is easily my fav album from a heavy guitar oriented band

Apparently Broadrick said he was going to make a Dub album of "Us & Them" too. Sadly it didn't happen, although a few of the tracks ended up on the "In All Languages" compilation.

"Us & Them" is easily my 2nd fav Flesh album......the way Broadrick marries his Godflesh riffs and nihilism to his Ice and Techno Animal Dub/Hip Hop/Jungle sounds is spectacular.

Thank you Fester for bringing this bad-ass thread back to life.

Melvins should also do a Dubstep album. Bug aka Kevin Martin (Ice/Techno Animal/God) makes bad-ass Dubstep records which are released through the mighty Ninja Tune Records and seeing as he's palsy with Justin Broadrick I think he should show Buzzo & Dale the Dubstep ropes.

god I wanted to stay out of this.

but you give me no choice.

if MELVINS release a dub record I might seriously consider giving up music entirely.

Hi glen.

If Melvins release a Dub record you'll turn into a hard-core Dub Reggae fiend and start forking out hundreds if not thousands for ultra rare King Tubby and Lee Perry Dubs.

RASTAFAAAAR!!!

glen

I will tell you this:

if MELVINS released a dub album I would likely purchase it.

and that is all the positive your going to get out of me.

PS: hi fiend.
