Is there a website that I could pre-order the new Manchild 4 book/cd coming out?

Chomas

can I get it minus the Manchild?  :)

We'll be sending everything off to print/ manufacturing on Monday. Pre-ordering should be an option by the end of next week.  Most likely we're going to give away some of the original artwork from the book/CD to 10- 15 folks drawn at random. We'll let you know the details when we figure it all out.  For your information: There are 4000 MANCHILD 3/ Making Love Demos in existence. We started will 2000 of that one and they were all gone in a little over a week so we did another 2000 to fill all the orders we got. The way things are looking now; we'll probably do 3000 copies of this new one and that will be that. I'll try and get some of the live tunes up on Myspace at some point in the near future.

Awesome. I'll pre-order the day it's up. Looking forward to this. Can't wait to see how the first half of the disc compares to YCLS #12, and we need an official document of the '08 tour, even if it's not a complete show :?.
I don't get all the Manchild bashing. Sure the name's stupid, but I love these books. Some of Brian's personal stories are a little too personal, but the social commentary on the metal/punk of the old days and today is dead on.

Agree completely.  I don't get it either.  His work is great.  He's contributed to the punk scene for a long time.  He offers these amazing Melvins projects that quite possibly wouldn't happen otherwise with the obvious blessing of the band.  I've met him a few times and he's nothing but a very nice guy.  WTF???
As if all the people bashing him have contributed anything more interesting and valuable?

Well, he has made some disparaging comments about the people here who
fly around the world to see the melvins, calling them stalker types akin to
the fans of the Grateful Dead. Plus, without the Melvins CD's accompanying
Manchild, he'd sell a hell of a lot less copies of his comics. But, he seems ok to me.

Which is basicly what a lot of people say.  My thoughts:
1)  The comments were not that big a deal at all.  And probably true.  And really, who cares?
2)  Of course the CDs sell more copies.  Why is that not OK?  The point is they are getting released in a creative and different format.  And he gets bashed?  Why bash him when it's easier to appreciate the effort?
Still makes no sense to me.  What is it that people want?

It annoyed me that he implied some of us were creepy to fly around to see the Melvins, like some of us have any other option.  Then he goes and basically calls a few senior members creepy and that was it for me.  Yeah and I like to collect their weird ass stuff, so don't try to make me feel weird about that LOL.  I can't just ever drive out of town on a weeknight to see the Melvins because of my job.  Walsby seems to forget that it's a beacon of light in this world to go see the Melvins, and really ultimately the irony of his words is what really grinds my gears.  I'm not taking it too seriously and I will buy his doodles to support the MElvins, but he really shouldnt piss where he eats.  Pretty rude of him IMO.

He probably wrote that down without realizing all the commotion it would cause in Melvins land after he hit the 'publish post' button.

People think all kinds of things all the time, and a lot of them are stupid, make no sense, are blunt, funny, or else, but the problem is that when those thoughts are put into words and then in print or hypertext, they are interpreted as definite and truthful.

Brian probably just came home from doing that tour, late at night, and wanted to write some thoughts off of him.

And by the way, there really are some creeps out there, I never felt that he was speaking about people like myself.

I think people took it to personal. I thought the following the Dead bit was awesome.

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

he's good people....sent me some mp3's of OOP stuff that I had been looking for for a long time a few years ago - and hes been a contributor to music scenes - doing lots of thankless crap....

BTW....If you haven't seen the cover he did for the toetag 7" you need to see it.......

anaconda

Ya, he sent me the excluded Making Love song from the Making Love demos.
I'm impartial, I was just stating the facts to date. As I said "he seems ok to me."

Excluded song, Ana? Did I miss something?
