Honey Bucket, Eye Flys..... most of their songs that i hear make me just realize what genius the band is. Even if they aren't trying.

Leech and night goat... i heard leech, bout GPT, but i hated it after 1 or 2 listens so i chucked it into a pile of dirty underwear for about a year, then i heard night goat and they officially became my favourite band after a demented buying session... GPT is amazing...

I'd seen Melvins artwork, and records in skate magazines, Session etc. and figured they would sound like the Pixies based on the art, songtitles etc.  I took a chance on 10 songs, and was blown away.  I skipped through the cd to make sure it wasn't a joke, then recorded it on to tape as many times as it would fit.  That Tape was in my vehicle from 10th grade, until I was 20, and my vehicle didn't have a tape player anymore.  The Melvins do more with less than anyone I've ever heard.  I'm Thankful that I was shown that there is more than just commercial music in the world.  Salute.

I had great luck to know the melvins, because on the library at our school was this orange/yellow cd called stag. Well I just thought the artworks cool so let's try it... So at home I listened to it and was just blown away...

From the first to the last song... Every song was genius... So I bought other records and now I'm a huge fan...

But there wasn't a song who made me a fan, it was the whole thing (stag)

(for frame of reference, i couldn't drive on my own when i started getting into the melvins, thus disabling me from getting to record stores)

Ok, so two years ago i'm looking for new music to listen to (this was in my Tool and Nirvana listening days.) I download a song called Honey Bucket at the reccomendaton of some people at the NFC. I loved it. It was addictive. I loved the intro and the time changes, oh lord. So of course, I had to get me some Melvins. I went out to best buy and buyed the only Melvins album there..... Collosus of Destiny.  So I go home and put it on.. and it was just noise. Where did the sound of Honey Bucket go? I said to myself then "I wouldn't be so mad if there was a real song on it somewheres", which there was I just never bothered looking.

This was only a minor set back. I ordered Houdini from Amazon.com and it arrived, and Honey Bucket was great, but the rest of the cd was dissapointing. To this day I still don't enjoy houdini.

Anyways, so sometime later i was at a record store. A real record store, elitists and all. I pick up Ozma by the melvins. Hot damn if nothing didn't turn me on to the melvins quicker. Ozma was amazing. It all sounded the same at first, but after many listenings I understood every power chord and every time change. Amazing!

And eye flys, oh how I loved eye flys. Seriously what a fucking song. Just brilliant. So much out of nothing.

I also managed to buy Stag used around this time. Thank god, because I had no idea how rare it was. I'm not a huge Stag fan, but i still listen to it.

Anyways, a little less than a year later i owned everything by them. The End.

There, that's my story, even though I only meant to talk about "honey bucket" and "eye flys"
