It's kinda chicken-eggy. I first heard of Melvins through Tool, so I got into Melvins via Tool. But Melvins influenced Tool, so I wouldn't have got into Melvins without... Melvins!

best one yet. that's why i don't consider melvins to be my no. 1 musical influence. the melvins might not be melvins without black flag.

Tool is a one trick pony.
Great band but shop worn.

Secretariat was just one horse, too.
Paul McCartney is my favourite Beatle.

Paul McCartney?  Sure, he was charismatic, but what about George??

Tool should do a record of just Melvins covers. And vice versa. That would rule.

IMO, Tools sounds best w/o all the polyrhythm shit going on (ie older stuff)

One horse, but many jars of glue.

Goin' to the track is where it's at, Jack.  Go, ponie$, go !
I'd rather be at Dodger Stadium...

George wrote some monster songs and was the Grumpy Cowboy of the band.
McCartney did many, many more and was a much better singer. Paul can do all styles.
Lennon was a maestro as well, just lazier and more of a dope fiend than Paul....unrealized potential.
I dragged Buzz to a McCartney show in 2002 and he a liked a good deal of it.
Dale is a big Be
atles fan.
I'd rather be at Dodger Stadium...

You raise a salient point.

My no. 1 musical influence is the first caveman who hit a mammoth shinbone against a rock. From him (or her) spouted all music.
