A few years back (2002-2003?) Buzz participated in a "Stooges Art Show" curated by Niagra at some gallery in Detroit ... Buzz's contibution was pretty great ... a mixed media painting featuring amongst other things ... Jesus, a cross, a swastika, and the word "COOL!" ... anyone have a pic of that they could post? I used to but for the life of me can't find it now ... thanx in advance!

I'm pretty sure it's in the Melvins book.

I'd have to dig it out to be sure ... but as I remember ... that is a "record cover" from the Bob Nickas curated Melvins Cover Art Exhibit ... whoever the artist was used Buzz's painting as a template it looks like ...

Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.

Have you seen the bridge?  I ain't seen the bridge!  Where's that confounded bridge?!

Nope, that's the "record cover" ... from "Neither Here Nor There" I was speaking of above ... it pulls elements (swastikas, text, Jesus, light bulb) of the Buzzo original and reasembles them in a more "graphic art" presentation befitting a record cover ... the orginal is a painting ... acrylic I belive w/ mixed media (ie. stuff ... can't remember what ??? sparkly shit, some kinda boarder mabey ... pasted right to the painting ... giving it a 3d vibe) I believe the colour scheme was reds/oranges/browns predominantly w/ some other colours at play too ...

Chomas

someone sold it on ebay a few years ago, I remember that, it went for like $500 or something if I do recall

Ah okay, wasn't sure what you meant.  I don't think I've seen the original before but it sounds pretty interesting.

The original wasn't that great.  I think it sold for around $350.

I suspect that Mackie assisted him with it - the "Cool" and adjacent filigree looks very Mackie-esque.
