"yeah,in Italy we use to call someone "finocchio" to say he's gay.it's also the Italian word for fennel, the plant"

Patton taught me that word. Il parla italiano.

"Fanook, or Finook: derived from "finocchio" or fennel, a derogatory term for homsexual or gay, i.e., people that wiseguys feel nervous around. A "mezzofinook" is half gay, sissy, bi."
I'd rather be at Dodger Stadium...

finocchio? It's way easier to call someone a poof.

Just be glad you're not Blue Oyster Clit fans.
Every year you could see them on tour playing the same music they played in the 1970's and 1980's.
No new music, just the hits.
You can pay $30 for admission and maybe get the same t-shirt you bought last year with 2009 on it.

Melvins put out new music every year that is relevent and fresh. It also brings in new fans. NWB was one of the best releases of 2009.
A tour with Down and Weedeater may be what Buzz and Dale want to do at this point in time.  It's their choice whatever the reason and it will be another way to expand their fan base.

The 25th Aniversary tour was fucking amazing. We as Melvins fans are spoiled to death.

i love the weedeater video on youtube where the singer just pukes in the middle of a song and just keeps singing...  good stuff.

OK, well some of us(myself included) were a little harsh on Down and their fans . I've really thought about it, and I'm all for this tour. Why not? I was never a big Pantera guy back in the day, and just never bothered to check out SJR or Down. On paper Down looks like a solid band, better than Phil's previous ones, so I'll give it a fair chance. Sure Phil has had some questionable behavior in the past, but nobody's perfect. And I don't think it's fair to only label him a junkie, when Buzz was up to the same stuff in the early '90s too.
I think that this double bill is better than say a Melvins/Sonic Youth tour. How predictable would that be? A crowd of diehard metalheads is better than a show with a bunch of hipster geeks just standing there. If you can't handle it, stand in the back where it's safe. As far as the idiot factor of Down's fanbase, it sounds  like they're more open minded than the majority of say the Tool crowd.

The difference is that Tool has enough fans to fill an arena and anytime you can fill an arena the majority of people will be idiots.
