I'm not creepy either!  But somehow I happen to know that, yes, they were married at one point:

Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.

Centripetal core of soul sojourn the field vibrates to absolution. I climb toward the sun to breathe the universal.

Have you seen the bridge?  I ain't seen the bridge!  Where's that confounded bridge?!

Acid King's first album (I believe it was their first) was a split with Altamont, so maybe you were hearing an Altamont song.

black stallion

i think that split with Altamont isn't their first release.before of that they released an EP and also Zoroaster.recently both these early releases have been reunited into this collection called The Early Years.

Dale could probably sing on these two songs:

They were married for a while and Dale did vocals on a song or two.
I had the pleasure of seeing Acid King and a band (who's name I forgot) featuring Mackie O open for the MELVINS in the early 1990's.

Maybe Get Hustle?

And the AK split with Altamont was indeed the very first release by AK. And Altamont.
To be afraid when you are alone, in the dark, faced with the unknown, the unspeakable; that is understandable fear. To be afraid, mortally afraid, in broad daylight, in a crowded city street, that is to know Melvins.

That was the band.  Get Hustle.  great show.  :)

They were married for a while. The song  'Divorced' on Crybaby is about their divorce. Altmont & Acid King toured together around the time
Civil War Fantasy came out. They played an in-store show w/ a few other bands at the record store I managed in New Orleans & my old band Blackula got to open too....that was the second time we got to open for Acid King, I still feel privileged.

First time '95ish :D

I made Acid King a delicious curry at my place after the show in Brighton a couple of years back, Rafa (bass) stayed over and we drank beer and listened to Basque punk until it got light. I still have his socks, I might ebay them soon....... :D   Happy days......
