Lysol is so over rated.
Ban after first post.

It would be a lot better if the tracks were seperated so I could skip through "Hung Bunny" and "Roman Bird Dog"...they are not bad songs, but I don't want to have to listen to them every single time I pop the cd in.

i thought it was worth listening to Lysol just for those two tracks  :(

I thought those two tracks were the reason for listening to Lysol...  :P

IMO, Lysol should be in everyones top 3.

Melvins fans who say Lysol is overrated are gay... (Waits for Juan's response)

the bloat

Was listening to Bullhead for the first time in a long time last night. It is definitely among their best. Maybe their most straightforward work and heaviest (at times). I followed up with King Buzzo. My favorite Melvins record without having to put much thought into it is the Maggot. It's pretty tough to beat IMO and is the one I listen to the most. Pigs is a close second...

HAT takes the lead from Lysol!  Seriously though, skipping Hung Bunny and Roman Dog Bird?  You need to get your head checked.  I wouldn't like the other songs on Lysol if I hadn't just heard that amazing build up.  That would be like listening to Eye Flys skipping over the intro and going straight to the vocals... it just doesn't work.  And while we're on the subject, is it Roman Dog Bird (like Wikipedia and Amazon both say) or is it Roman Bird Dog (like on discogs.com).  Roman Bird Dog makes more sense, but I always assumed that's why it was the opposite...

Gluey Porch

Maggot

Bullhead

POTRE

Eggnog

hey wait a minute, I was about to list them all.....

Went for HAT. Probably does the best job of explaining the Melvins in one album, not that that's really possible.

And the winner is...

*drum roll*

"Hostile Ambient Takover"! with 13% of votes.

Followed closely by "Melvins / Lysol" with 12% of votes.

I agree, though, that its hard to pick just one record in case of band like Melvins and so this poll could be used as a guide for a neophyte/newbie or someone who always wanted to check out their records but didn't know where to start.

Thanks to  everyone for voting / checking out this poll and thanks to Melvins, of course, for an inspiration.

Also, feel free to check out results from previous polls, if you're interested:

Keep your eyes open for more polls and I might do more Melvins-related stuff in the future.

In Soviet Russia, house is over you.

In Soviet Russia, Buzz Osbourne would've been considered a legitimate son of Ozzy.
