What/Where/When was your first Melvins show?

I'm sure this had been done before. but, i didn't feel liking searching that much.

anyways, my first time seeing them was for the 3 set tour in 1996. it was at the Odeon in Cleveland, OH. I don't remember much about it except that the first 2 sets were noisier than the final set. i also remember the club being virtually empty except for like 10 people including myself by the time they got to the 3rd set. a couple of my friends actually got kicked out for moshing too much. it was the last time the Melvins would play the Odeon. i was supposed to see them there a year later opening for Helmet. but, when i arrived there was a sign saying the Melvins would not be performing this night. found out later from a security gaurd that Buzz had said them & the fans(referring to my friends that were kicked out) had been treated like shit the last time they were there & would never play the Odeon again.

Oct. 1993, opening for Primus at the concert hall in Toronto. I'd only heard "Vile" on the Mesomorph Enduros comp. to this point so I wasn't really too sure what to expect. The audience was mostly composed of Lollapalooza jocks there for Primus and the occasional indie rock type there for the Melvins. Like many opening slots of yore, they did an exceptional job of pissing off the audience, dragging "Sacrifice" on for an extra 15 minutes or so. I didn't come away a fan, but loved that they pulled that off and was also blown away by Dale's drumming, not to mention the early stages of the Buzzo haircut we all know and love...

being a long time Primus fan i resent that comment. i'm no Lollapalooza jock. whatever the fuck that is? all the Lollapaloser's i knew in high school were not Primus fans at all.
