Mangled Demos from 1983

Placed my order this week at CD Universe: $9.79 + shipping. That place is great for new releases, always cheap. Once an album gets a few months old, the price goes up though.

Glad I never bothered with that bootleg version on ebay. Never downloaded it either, so this will really be like a new Melvins CD for me. Only heard the few songs on the "Singles 1-12" and the book CD. Should be a good thrashfest.

There is a song on the Salad of a Thousand Delights DVD in the special features section simply labeled Melvins live-in-the-studio circa 1984. Its a really great song and I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not it would be on this Mangled Demos release.

You are correct SNIVLEM, the 1984 track from the DVD is called Matt-Alec, and it is featured twice on the new release. I think Dale's drumming on the DVD version is damn hilarious compared with his hard hitting heavy style of today. He has a tiny little kit and he's playing like a jazz drummer or something. Not that there's anything wrong with that...  You're right it is a good song, and if I'm not mistaken it sounds like Buzz is singing in a bit of an English accent. Both versions on the Mangled Demos are a bit different, and both are good.

i thought it was called bang my head?  that is one of my favorite melvins songs.  it's so simple and beautiful.  and they are very young with so much ahead of them.

Man that gif goes around my office every Friday afternoon with the caption " It's Friday. Are You as Excited as Me " except the kid isn't playing drums. I hate it but like it at the same time.
