Doesn't everyone love a bit of post metal beard stroking?

Quote from: Chief Ten Beers on March 07, 2010, 06:07:54 PMEver been to the Montage Hall in Rochester? Seeing Clutch there next month. I'm on their mailing list, they sent me an email about the Clutch show. So for shits I emailed them back telling them about the Melvins "open date" and if they could look into bringing them. They responded back quick saying they're very interested and will look into it. Take it for what it's worth. We shall see. I guess it's up to the band in the end. Maybe they want/need the day off.

Never been there. that would be sweet if they booked the melvins. and, shit i didn't know clutch was coming. i'll have to look into that. believe or not i haven't seen them.

Edit: Once again no clutch for me. i've got weedeater on the 9th and i'll still be pretty broke after coming back from Amsterdam at the end of march. i can't afford to do both & i've got permission to record audio & video of weedeater. so,....

Isis are ok they just wandered a little after panopticon and never returned but they're one of those bands you'd probably enjoy more live.
...and they all sing the same refrain: its fun to take a trip, put acid in your veins.

even when i did like them i always thought they weren't so great live, aaron always seemed to struggle with his vocals. then they played roadburn in 2008 and i decided to check them out anyway even though i never listened to them anymore. i was surprised how bad the sound was for a band like them. i had the impression that after being on the road with tool and all, their sound would be top notch and the material boring, but it both was.

after them earthless played and the sound was perfect, hmmm...

I gave them their chance live.  Still did nothing for me.  Again, pretty glad to have the west coast dates the way they are.

I first saw Isis in Syracuse late '04, right after Panopticon came out. They were awesome. 2nd time in Buffalo, a few months before Absence Of Truth came out in '06, not as good, but the opening bands were great - Russian Circles & Dalek. They were honing new material, and had a strict "No Taping" policy that night.
I'm thinking I'll check the setlist first night of the new Melvins tour. If it's all new material, and some H.A.T. finally thrown in the mix, I'll drive to Cleveland.

I am so going to the show in Eugene. It's gonna be my first time I've seen them. Would have gone seem them when they were in Portland on the Down/Weedeater tour, but I live over 200 miles away, and my Portland homeboy was out of town at the time. It's been late for me getting into the Melvins, but I'm glad I finally did! :D

i was at that isis/dalek/zombi/russian circles show - they all kicked soooo much ass. it was my only time seeing isis live but i thought
it was pretty cool. zombi and russian circles def stole the show.
The one and only....

glen

any guesses on the double set?

I'm saying it won't be the old format of buzz & dale doing the classics and then jared and coady joining in set 2 for the newer material.

something exciting and different is in the works.
