Ya, it's from a film made in 1974!!! that's retro! hell that's ancient!

And for the record, I think this cover is fantastic. It looks like
the cover of a magazine or something. Very editorial type feel to it.

That's some good research.  I like really like the title and think the art's pretty cool.  Before you pointed out where it was from, it reminded me of early 70's horror.  I got the era right, at least.

Didn't mean to call you out or anything cond, it just really looked like something one might have slapped together in five minutes.

There is no way that is the cover!!!!

Even if Mackie wasn't designing it, which I'm sure she will, (or atleast have an opinion on whoever does) she wouldn't let this happen. The Star Spangled Banner artwork was pretty bad, but that was a 7". This is a full length record. Some of you may argue that some of their record covers are poorly designed, but you're reacting to the color scheme or subject matter, like the guy who mentioned not liking POTRE. They still took skill to design. You can tell.

C'mon. This is a Melvins LP, not a junior high punk band's demo. The artwork in question is just amateur-first-computer-class-graphic arts, looking. I think someone is shitting us.

It is very old-school, and it's really cool in my opinion.

I prefer the old-school look on album covers anyways.

I'm open to all sorts of design ideas myself. Maybe they felt it was
time to change it up a bit. How many times can you go to the well
and have little dingbats, animals, typographic icons, decorative
flourishes and pastel colours. Ultimately it's about the music inside
at the end of the day anyways.
