yeh, Brian Walsby said it best about black metal...bunch of shirtless guys wearing makeup, brandishing huge swords out in the middle of the woods with no one else around...gay-hayy!!!

heheh, yeah, I still like a few black metal albums I guess...despite the lack of good musical input..Burzum has a few good things about it.

and Buzz's right, 25 years ago, there was some good metal in that Genre...nothings really new there, Venom still going?

There's some real gems in these interviews.  I think Buzz has talked about painting oneself in a corner musically in other interviews as well.
Kinda feels like once you have embraced a specific sub genre of music ( black metal, hardcore, etc) you have limited what kind of music you can play and what your "fans" will accept under a given band name.  Even great bands like the Ramones (as Buzz mentions in the interview) do this to themselves all the time.  You brand yourself as one thing and people will expect that one thing when they go to buy your album.
