Damn, what a show!  It's very easy to say that it ranks in my top four melvins show ever.  Butcher opened and for the second time, I did not care for them much.  I'm probably just too stupid to figure it out or something. Before the show I talked to Dan R. as he sold the merch.  Asked him about the the projects that people on the list mentioned but had very little to say.  The subject turned to baseball talk.  As for merch. the same black skeleton shirt from H.A.T. and a white penguin shirt that says "happy halloween bitch" on it.  COD and HAT cd's.  A local artist was selling 24x36 silk-screens.  Not a bad design but they looked like they were done by kozik.  I thought $10 was a good price for that size so I bought one.

As for the show, Buzz talked to the crowd for about a minute.  Said they are playing the show because they love all of us and that the great american music hall is the best venue in the world.  They launched into their set and tore that shit up.  Highlights were promise me, lovely butterflies, green malaneshi sp?, and going blind.  I don't remember ever hearing that song live even on the houdini tours.  The live version sounded raw, nasty, and slower than the cd version.  I did not see anyone with a video camera.  Dan R. got me permission from the club to use mine.  I just wanted to enjoy the show so I had the sound guy record just the audio.

the set finished with nigh goat and dale knocked the hell out of his kit. Not with the sticks but actually knocked all his shit over.  Is that their new rock star ending?  Might have been pissed?  No speedo this time.  Just a women's nighty.  The kind a crack whore would wear.  Kevin played in his boxers and buzz was as usual.  It might have just been S.F. but there were plenty of good looking ladies there.

I took two melvins virgins to the show.  Don't think I converted anyone. Most importantly the Melvins were playing hard and seemed to be very into the show.  The crowd was one of the best S.F. crowds I have ever seen.  They were rocking 10 times harder than recent L.A. shows.

If anyone on the list would like to take the audio from my DV tape and tweak the sound, please feel free.  If that ftp site is up, they can have it.  Oh yea, I saw Cale from this list at the show.  He was kissing some guy by the merch table all night.  I did not want to cramp his style so I did not say hello.  PBS.

Melvins played last night and lived up to the standard they've set.... Highlite
   They played "Goin' Blind" early in thier set, and it ROCKED!!! Super powerful.
   I woke up this morning, and sort of remember them playing "Oven" before that.
   "Let it All Be" somewhere early-mid set, which flowed into song flowing into song...songs that they've been playing the last couple years...
   Towards the late part of the set, they did a big outerspace noise jam trip out thing, that seemed to go on for quite some time...I may be losing my mind here but was this the same song they played on the last tour, where the stage changed from Altamont to Melvins, "seemlessly"?
   Then Night Goat....
    Maybe a song or two after that, or maybe that was the last song, I'm not sure...
    Then Dale knocked all his drums all over the place and made a big mess with 'em...
   I've been going to Melvins shows for over ten years, and I've never seen Dale abuse, or throw, or knock over his stuff....So I'm curious if there was a reason for this....
   There was a rumor going around that someone jumped up and took the stuffed "Jack a lope" off of his drums during the set, but it was returned? I wonder if this had anything to do with it?
    It was a "cute" kind off Jackalope with stuffed antlers, not real ones like I'm used to....I"ve never seen one like that.....(a cute one).

The nerds ftp doesn't seem to be working anymore, but if somehow you could get the show to me, I could host it online so folks could download it.  If the sound needs tweaking, I can do that too.
