Saw them 11 times now, let me see if I can recall them all:
, The Rave Bar, Milwaukee. Pre mumu, shortly after the Maggot came out. There was some technical hitches that night, so they played Okie from Muskogee while figuring it out. Heavy as hell. Cosmic Psychos opened and were entertaining. My friend got sick and had to leave halfway through.
, The Rave Bar, Milwaukee. 2x4 tour. Some guy from the audience tried singing Smell Like Teen Spirit, but halfway through gave up and the audience sang the rest. Great to hear two sets, kinda wish they would have played more full songs instead of just snippets, though.
, The Metro, Chicago. Jucifer opened and were pretty great. The Melvins played all of HAT that night, it was great.
, The Metro again I think, Chicago. Geek Tour. Skeleton Key opened and were great, got their album Obtainium shortly after. Melvins played a set pretty similar to the set last year (and At A Crawl!). Tomahawk were good too. Overall, one of my favorite shows.
, Double Door, Chicago. Trevor Dunn opened, he was okay. Melvins were pretty heavy that night, but I wasn't completely feeling it, that is until Jello came out and the place went apeshit. Note that Jello is lighter than he looks, and has a funny smell about him.
, High Noon Saloon, Madison and Shank Hall, Milwaukee. The sets were pretty much identical, although Dale wore the Fat Elvis outfit for the first time in Milwaukee during the Porn set. First time seeing Big Business, thought they came across better live than on record at the time. Melvins played a bunch of stuff I didn't know as it was before A Senile Animal came out. May have been one of the only people in the crowd to like Ghostdigital.
, High Noon Saloon, Madison. Great set, liked Big Business a lot, too. BORIS!!!
, Double Door, Chicago. Houdini show. I thought it was just going to be Melvins '83 then Houdini but got a bunch of stuff in between and they finished with The Bit! Houdini isn't my favorite by them, but it was a great show, another favorite.
, some club north of Chicago. Opening for Down. Weadeater was okay, not really my thing, though. Melvins were amazing, even if they only got to open. Left before Down. One note on the Down fans, they seemed okay to me, but I've never seen so many people wearing shirts of the band they're there to see; I thought it was kinda dumb, personally.
, High Noon Saloon, Madison. Came in during Totimoshi, who were pretty good. Played two sets, amazing sets, too. My friend got part of Dale's drumstick, I'm still jealous.
Well, that's it.
