Rig Rundown - Melvins' King Buzzo

Idlehanz

I'd love to see a rundown as to which effects he uses on which songs.

Dumpster D

yeah, good to know I've been hearing Vintage Sunn Beta lead's on the last records!!!

Buzz isn't a fucking Tool. Where a lot of guys never grow out of the whole "Stack" obsession.

buzz never stood in front of a wall of marshall stacks, as far as I know, not unless he was probly doing it in some form of satire....at least not in some cheap add for a new shitty JMC series marshall or whatever...Nope, he's more into the adult entertainment...

Jaron

What kind of power amps did he say he had hooked to those?

From Otis Bperiod Facebook-

"King Buzzo wires his rig up. This is his current live rig and it sounds huge! 1500 watt Crown power amp and custom hand built hybrid of a Sunn Beta Lead rack mount preamp made by Hilbish Design through 2 Tyrant 1/12 1/15 custom built cabinets. The other rack set up is redundant. (Spare) a small pedal board with the Boss OD3 Bass overdrive as main distortion. New Travis Bean TB1000S Pan Version. The Ritz, San Jose, Calif. EHX Pitchfork. My guitarist has one. Baddass!

I'm gonna post some tracks on SoundCloud with the pitchfork. Have you heard it? There was something similar on the lead guitar on Pink Floyd - Animals.

Fuzzo

Years ago there was a rig rundown of when he still played Les Pauls but I've never found it again, he was joking around the whole time and was balancing the guitar by the headstock in the palm of his hand, anyone seen it?

perzo)))

Tyrant Tone Amps are fucking awesome!
Again,a gorgeous tragedy approaches,in the wake of those thought contained. But sonic reverberations shake the very marrow of the fragile chamber of mans lifeforce, and again the minions quiver in fear,as daylight fails to come, and Melvins walk the battlefield, bored and hungry...

Yes i remember it and just had a good look around online to try to find it but to no avail. It seems it may have been for MetalKult being that he mentions it at the start of the one below. Unlike the video below, i guess no one ever re-uploaded the video to YouTube and it simply disappeared into the ether at the link it was shown at.

(the) Razor

Does he ever even use the delay pedal? I can't even for the life of me recall a Melvins tune where they do.
Don't click this

It's a minute "slapback" delay setting. I would guess it's being used on The Decay Of Lying on this set.

Here's the (old) one I hear it in. During the lite parts.

Rusty Shackleford

Maybe the first part of eye flys?  There's delay in Youth of America too.
