JUST Dale.

I, as many others on this forum, have been riding this strange Melvins rollercoaster for a long, long time.  However, lately I've found myself missing Dale being the sole drummer.  Don't get me wrong, I love the Biz, and Coady is a fucking monster behind the kit.  I just think that the Buzz/Dale dynamic is sorta being drowned out by Jared and Coady.  I know the Melvins are gonna do what the Melvins wanna do but does anyone else feel the same?  How long before Big Biz gets the axe?

After attending the Spaceland shows and seeing this lineup play a lot of the "classics", I would say that Jared and Coady are a great thing. And as far as drummers? twice as powerful and they play almost exactly the same thing. It just makes it louder and better.

Yeah, you should totally check it out, dude. IMO, It's all good & at present, it's good as ever,
maybe better. Having said that, I would pay to see a full 45 min. set of "Just Dale" on his kit.

Like I said, I like the Biz.  I have heard and absolutely LOVE the new one.   I've seen every tour with J & C and in many cases more than one show.   Maybe I'm crazy.  I just miss the trio.  Despite what you say, there is a big difference, for better or for worse.

The cymbal stuff is excellent too! As a matter of fact, the crash cymbal alone impresses the hell out of me when Dale uses it.

Well...all I'm sayin' is, I love everything they do BUT for as experimental as they are you figure they would at least move on from the ol' "clinkity clankity" shit they've been doing for 3 albums now.  I get it.  Trust me.  I have grown accustomed to the changes they go through and I guess I wish it was time for them to change it up again.  That takes nothing away from how good their past 3 albums are.

yes. and I know what you mean by drowned out.... you may not hear it on their studio albums but the live show does sound drowned out to me unless they are playing something slow like boris or hung bunny.
