I don't think anyone has heard it yet publicly.

Oh, OK. Was referring to this:

QuoteI wished they would have slowed it down OZMA style instead we get a second place
winner from a VW commercial.

Hmm, so they'll take Scions' money and VW's at the same time. Whores!

MELVINS usually always twist a cover in a good way.
BUT the last Kiss cover and now this are too straight in a bad way. :(

I wished they would have slowed it down OZMA style instead we get a second place
winner from a VW commercial.

still can't wait to get it!

Have you heard it?

(PAUL)

I believe she's referring to the Jon Spencer version being the second place winner, but then again you should probably just ask her.
Hail, not fail.
PS:  fuck him.

So are melvins really covering Black Betty for a car commercial or is this some hoax?

MELVINS didn't record it for a car commercial. jon spencer did.  MELVINS version is just for this split.
Ok I'm relieved but black betty? fucking hell that's scraping the bottom of the barrell.  What's next Freebird, stairway to heaven?

Up next is a sweet cover of "The sign" by Ace of Base.

I unironically like all of these songs.

Buzz is pretty much psychopathically capitalistic, so I don't really understand by what metric he could possibly sell out. He has appeared on the Radio 1 rock show and accepted the BBC's filthy socialist lurcre, maybe that's selling out, I dunno.

Doing an album with Kid Rock = Selling out.  Doing what they want to do and getting paid for it does not equal selling out.
I am a raper guy, obviously.

Are you fucking kidding me !?  Black Betty is an awesome song with a lot of history...

"Black Betty" is a early 20th century African-American work song often credited to Huddie "Lead Belly" Ledbetter as the author, though the earliest recordings are not by him. Some sources claim it is one of Lead Belly's many adaptations of earlier folk material;[1] in this case an 18th century marching cadence about a flintlock musket. There are numerous recorded versions, including acapella, folk, and rock arrangements.

...and I'd love to hear the Melvins version in a car commercial. The band would make a lil' bread & it might balance out the "freecredidscore" bullshit band.

they kinda ran out of gas after Now I got worry.
Peaked at Orange.
Amazing live way back when.
Peaked at Orange.    =;  Puhleeze, they peaked at Extra Width.

first of all..  it's MO WIDTH.   second of all... I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually agree with pinkyslim on this one.
:)

I'm just now hearing off these guys and I really like it!  I see they're playing in my area soon and was thinking of going but everyone thinks they peaked years ago.  Do any of you think they're still good live?

If you have never experienced the JSBE you should go!
Their drummer Russell Simmins is astounding.

The proper album was EXTRA WIDTH. Au Go Go in Australia released MO' WIDTH which was a bunch of outtakes from the Extra Width album.

Anyway, back in the day JSPX were an amazing live band, but had seemed to lose it in recent years. However, I saw them recently when they played ORANGE in its entirety and they were amazing. Interestingly, when they played a bunch of newer stuff for the encore, they seemed to have lost a bit of their power.
