Kevinw as in the band for eight years. Jared & Coady are going on five right now? You think they'll "break the record"?

I think jared and coady will invent a new flavor of pudding that will not only taste delicious but it will cure aids.  capitalizing on this new pudding they quit the band with millions of dollars in their pockets just before the 7 year mark.

Yeah, that was my first thought as well but it wasn't a poll option, so I went with something else

When you first see this article on the main page, you only see the phrase

"YOU THINK KEVIN'S RE..."

This REally jolts one's imagination. Here's the many things I thought it COULD have been before finding out the truth:

You think Kevin's re...tarded?
You think Kevin's re...joining the Melvins?
You think Kevin's re...ally going to be rejoining the Melvins?
You think Kevin's re...lishing his pickle relish?
You think Kevin's re...ctum is bleeding?
You think Kevin's re...ctally smuggling us a lost Melvins album that he was in?
You think Kevin's re...tarded?
You think Kevin's re...wards for the toast will get us the orange juice?
You think Kevin's re...cognizing the historical impact of the Melvins on the world even before the Melvins or any of its members existed?

AND IT GOES ON
AND ON
AND ON
AND ON
N AND ON
AND ON
L AND ON
S AND ON
E AND ON
X AND ON?

By the way, I thought maybe when you were saying "YOU THINK KEVIN'S RECORD WILL BE BROKEN?", I was wondering if maybe Kevin Rutmanis had just come out with a new record by himself and you were wondering if any of the listeners might happen to destroy their copy of this record. Or maybe, like, Kevin just received one of those cool new vinyl LPs in the mail and then it turns out that he received it and it WAS ALREADY BROKEN????!!!!! SHIT???

The last few words on the last track of T.B.S.M. are...four, four, Four, FOUR, FOUR, FOUR.

Perhaps you have to add all the four's together then it would be 24, as in years!!!  :)

I voted for them beating the "record" by a few years. I nearly went with the last pick tho. I think that they will almost certainly beat the eight years and after that is anyone's guess. I wonder how the BB guys themselves feel about such a potential milestone, and that they could be seen in retrospect to be the bands key members. Oh and CoryCory you didnt specify an option for if Coady left and Jared remained! Could happen who knows.  :? Hope they stay as long as Buzz & Dale want 'em in. If that's till the end of the band then that's more than fine by me.

I see Jared & Coady as key members of the Melvins now. Those guys do waaay more than
hold their own. In particular the vocals since J & C joined, IMO, have been taken to a new,
higher level that widens the bands dynamics.

I could see Coady leaving and Jared staying if Big Business split up, but at this point anything could happen.

Buzz and Dale seem to be the happiest with the current line up.  Plus there's something about Jared and Coady.  I get the impression that they are easy to work with and aren't heroin addicts.  Unless nature intervenes I imagine they'll be in the band years after the 8 year mark.

Same here. They both seem to share Buzz and Dale's humourous and eccentric personalities, whilst coming off as being pretty modest, decent guys.

that's the impression i get as well. even though it's been 5 years, things are just getting started with this squad and i'm constantly looking forward to what's next...

I voted yes they'll break it and stay for years. Kevin was in the band 6 yrs, not 8.  '98-'04. He was fired late '04, last gig was New Orleans on the POTRE tour I believe. The Jelvins CDs were released in '05, he was on them, but out of the band at that point.
