Wondering how people feel about this release. Gonna pick it up, eventually.

So, is 26 Songs something to get excited about, or is it just an OK release?

FartLips

its the greatest evah!
Judy is mad.🤣

DubEMC

Really, really great early material. The unreleased stuff is great. I enjoy the early stuff. If only Mangled Demos would get an official release!

anaconda

if they weren't all over the web i bet the mangled demos would have been re-released by Ipecac already.

DubEMC

Conda you're right as usual. I have it now thanks to Beto. What I would enjoy though would be maybe some remastering, a cover and some cool liner notes by Buzz.

anaconda

thx. 26 Songs is a good purchase, though technically its only like
19 songs and a few tracks with multiple takes of the same songs
but different eras/mixes. Added bonus is the 4 panel insert where Buzz goes on at length, much unlike the more recent CDs where there's very little inside text. I further like it because there's a little picture of a wheelchair on the inside that makes me think of Electroretard every time.

Great, some great songs which wasn't relased before (I think)
I like fucking corpses

Binkard and Friends

well 26 songs, as im sure you know, is re-release of the original 10 songs. they are re-mastered, and alternate takes and all that are included. buzz's liner note rant is fucking awesome. tells about the wierd tour life of early Melvins

the first 10 (remastered) songs are really powerful, heavy rock songs. slightly punk influenced, with great riffs. Buzz's voice sounds slightly distorted, and dale's drum sound thick and heavy. great all around. get it.

I recently burned a copy of this off my mate and i think that its my favorite melvins album to date. Really slow and sludgy stuff. My favorite are easy as it was, #2 a pencil, at a crawl and the much better version of set me straight. Any other really big fans of this album?

Dr. Gonzo

right here.... I bought it  which is rare for me and I made a T-shirt with it's cover huge on the front (in color).

Binkard and Friends

excellent early stuff by the Melvins, it really displayed how fucking heavy their music was were for being a bunch of teenagers.

the drums sound clunky and huge, and Buzz's voice is slightly, tastfully distorted.
