I also found out that the "demo" version of Easy As It Was is used in Kurt Cobain's Montage of Heck.
bullshit. e=mc squared. not kurt cobain is the ruler of our galaxy.
I'll keep that in mind, Mr. Man.

I have it released as 26 Songs from Ipecac and I really like this one. All of the songs have that wonderful, heavy as shit Melvins sounds we all love, and I can almost hear the evolution of Gluey Porch Treatments in it.

i like the liner notes from all of the re-issued records.  for me, it adds a little perspective to the whole thing, which i enjoy.
everytime i listen to 26 songs i picture a young dale beating up a beat up drum kit with heads caved in like soup bowls and recording a revolutionary style of drumming that had never been done (to my knowledge).  it's fascinating to me.  and that's just the drumming!  i won't start on buzz's songs or guitar playing.
i guess it makes me appreciate the melvins even more, if that's possible.

Half the reason I bought the old reissues was for the liner notes! They're wonderfully insane, keeping details on the music vague and telling stories of all the madness going on in that whole Washington scene! Not many bands have liner notes in a remotely same vein (If I can find one I'll buy!).

I just noticed Show Off Your Red Hands and Don't Piece Me share the same last lines.

"Never is an ugly word."

I think that "Don´t Piece Me" is an improved version of "Show Off Your Red Hands" ....Their ends sound exactly the same...
Has two bands with ridicolous names.

Is the Let's Kiss version of At A Crawl the same version as the version that's on 26 Song's 22nd track? At least the vocals are the same.

Just got 8 Songs on vinyl in the mail and I'm digging it. I agree with Flutter on hearing how the band evolved but overall it reminds me more of Ozma than Gluey Porch Treatments. I now officially have pretty much every Melvins album on vinyl. It is a happy day for Dan Halen.  :D

It's a list of 'bands and people we shouldn't ever forget', presumably penned by Chris Hanzsek. He was going to sell me the stampers and some test pressings of 6 Songs but nothing ever came of it in the end. Not for lack of trying, of course.  :D

weird, he promised me he sold me all of the 6 songs test pressings he had  :-k

I just assumed the list came from the band, the ones I could make out of note were Beyond Possession, Krist Novaselic, Mike Dillard, Green River, Steve Turner, Mombius Hibachi, Steve Newman, Kurdt Kobain, and Kiss...

That may be true, I'm going back three years or so. Also up for grabs were the stampers and test pressings for Deep Six if I remember right. He got everything out and we talked about prices (he wanted $800 for the 6 Songs stampers and a test press which was out of my range) but a year later I contacted him again, he said he'd get them out again and that was the last I heard.

Maybe he got lucky and someone bought the lot?

So which version is it that was recorded in February 1986? Six songs or Eight/Ten songs? And when was the other version recorded then? Do we know?
