is fucking giant. huge drums, huge cymbals. from what i've read, he has a 26 inch ride, 22 inch crash and a floor tom-size rack tom. his bass drum alone crushes most other drummers kits.

anyone have any links to articles/write-ups about his kit?

Vcavallo

seeing the thing live is amazing.  the snare drum is about seven feet deep.  at least.

maybe 12........

i love the huge rack drum, and especially the cymbals. i think his crash cymbal is the size of most other drummer's ride cymbals.

i cant wait to see him pound his kit in like a month. i'll be at the Carrboro, NC date on the Pigs tour.

though he`s not supertech. he`s got his own way, a kind of deranged mix of crover and john bonham :D

The most amazing thing about Crover's drumming is what it feels like being up close when he goes off! You feel it in your chest. Incredibly loud snare and cymbal hits are numbing as well. Its not off the mark by saying he is one of the best drummers around along with that Rush guy Neil Peart.

some drummers are technical others have "that feeling" and mr crover has both of those things!

With all respect of Dale; Neil Peart is in a different leauge. You know what I mean if you

Wait a minute, I mean, Neil Peart is fuckign amazing, but Dale Crover is goddamn awesome in his own right.

i agree, I think Mac McNeilly is techincal (somewhat) and uses alot of feeling.

there's a difference in technical drummers too, i mean i think brahn Dallor(mastodon) has more feeling than Dillinger escape plans drummer. Both very technical.

by the way that wasn't a sound clip it was a movie clip. thanks for posting it, ive never heard or seen ghs.

beee

dale is not THAT technical, but i like his drumset and style.

cooter

how about when he played on the MATEL (tm) drumset!

I would love to see that!

It'd also be cool to see David Yow in the studio "half tanked and half dressed" recording his vocals!

It was an 8" deep snare when i saw them which is nothing unusual.
He has 16" rack tom whic is the size of most peoples Floort toms and an 18" floor whic is not that unusual (i use one myself) sometimes a 16" floor will sound bigger than an 18 anyway.
It's the way he hits it that matters and the mixer has a massive effect. Bigger is not laways better but it does look very nice!
