they are definitely heavier with only dale on drums as he seems to play more loose and doesn't have to look to his right and keep pace, he just lets go and, as always, absolutely kills it! the man is fucking legend! I've heard some ppl talking on the way out, probably seeing the melvins for the first time, about how good the gig was and how amazing the drummer was...  I couldn't agree more.

Why say no to drugs when you can say yes?

people who got to see this show are so lucky, melvins are totally better as three piece

Why do u think they are better without Coady? I have grown to love the BB boys.

love the bb boys too but there's no need of two drums,it sounds a bit too mechanical at times.. just an opinion, they're still one of the greatest bands

That statement should be punishable by death in any situation it is used.

agreed!
though i think that as a four piece they are still better live than 99% of the other bands i have seen live.

QuoteThis could have been Melvins with Kevin Rutmanis; that was the last time I'd seen them kick this much ass.

Jules: I traveled up with a chum from Brighton and had a glass or two in The Worlds End before tramping round to the venue. I also was so excited to see the single kit on stage, it made me goosebumpy like when I Saw them at the Highbury garage '94ish.

Second most disappointed person of the evening: Michael Jordan. This was to be the first time in his life he'd see Melvins with two drummers. D'oh!

Disappointed only for a split second when Jules noticed there was only one drum kit on stage. This was the 9th time I've seen the melvins and I was really excited about seeing them as a 4 piece for the first time (last 2-3 times they played with trevor). To bad it didn't happen but it was a great show as always.

My 2 cents on the evening:
My long journey began at 6am at Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv. 8 hours and 700$ later I was in Camden, passing the time until I met Jules and the guys at the pub. We got to the venue pretty early so there was time for a few more beers and some good laughs. The place started to get packed (looked like it sold out) and the mighty melvins took the stage.

At the beginning there was this one idiot who I doubt even knew who the melvins were that kept pushing and shoving people around. He was definitely high on something other than life... luckily the bouncers took him away after a couple of songs and the vibe turned great again.

I was standing right in front with another girl (hi Amy) so I didn

i was kind of dissapointed about the box set thing, but only because in koln it seemed like there was a small chance of me getting one but i didnt have enough money, so i made sure i had it in london.
i hope bob pepper doesnt want me to pay through my asshole for it , i will probly leave it a while now anyway, seeing as there is 50 of them it isnt gonna be impossible to get at a later date. when i can afford the asshole producing money procedure.

as for the show, it was great, had a much better time than koln , but that was all abit of a nightmare for various reasons for me.
seeing them as a 3 piece is a nice change. it does make dales drumming seem alot stronger ,
was really loud too, but without sounding shit, the p.a in electric ballroom could handle it.

you should see the state of my back from the pit.
heres what somebody else has posted on youtube i was at the front.

"To be honest i've kind of gone off the band a bit now. I just like to hang out on here because of everyone else."

:P   Indeed you can. Now, if I may be allowed to retort: if I was given the choice of seeing anyone kicking ass or playing with two drummers, I'd choose two drummers every time. Dale on six cylinders is awesome, but Dale and Coady on twelve....

They are the reason we were born with two eyes and two ears.

Melvins @Electric Ballroom 2011

GODDAMN. I SAID. GOD. DAMN.
I wish I could have witnessed this. I've seen Melvins 4...or maybe 5 times...and it's always been with two drummers. No complaints there, but I'd love to witness the three piece.
DALE CROVER IS A GOD AMONGST MEN.

I said God like, three times. I don't even believe in God BUT I BELIEVE IN MELVINS
IN MELVINS WE TRUST.
