Maybe it's not his wah pedal. I also see a Dunlop Octavio at the left of the wah. Does Toshi play guitar?

Fuzz is love.
Foot fetishism means love, because, it's the magic of feet odor... Long live depravation.

an EP is 30-45 mins

anything over 45 mins is a full length.

HAT may be the only exception in the history of Rock N Roll

p.s. Everybody Smoke Pot

EPs are tough to define but it's definitely not anything that's under 45min.  If that was true then all pre-Never Say Die Black Sabbath albums would be considered EPs.

EPs are typically under 30min and/or contain less than 8 songs.  It gets confusing so it's probably best not to think about it too much and just call it what the band calls it.

Primus - ASNTTALP - 6 songs - 28:18 - EP
Melvins - Lysol - 5/6 songs - 31:21 - I've seen it classified as a LP and EP but usually a LP
Slayer - Reign in Blood - 10 songs - 28:56 - LP
Heroine Sheiks - Journey to the End of the Knife - 8 songs - 27:32 - LP
Nine Inch Nails - Broken - 8 songs - 33:09 - EP
Earth - Extra-Capsular Extraction - 3 songs - 32:21 - EP
Earth - Earth 2 - 3 songs - 73:00 - LP
Sunn O))) - Flight of the Behemoth - 5 songs - 51:27 - LP
Sunn O))) - Oracle - 3 songs - 80:55 - EP

ManWithNoName

Does Toshi play guitar?

Well, we'll always have "In the Air Tonight." Will that be your most enduring song?
You know, that song won't lie down. It just won't go away. I mean, there's a Mike Tyson moment associated with it now. It's just bizarre. I guess it has a bit of mystery, a lot of atmosphere, and the drums coming in, pinning people to the wall.

you have too much time on your hands, clearly.

I was waiting on a phone call and looked up those albums on wikipedia in about 10min.  Is that too much time?

I will have you KNOW, once and for ALL, A traditional EP...should be around 12-24 minutes!

back in the good old days of yore, an EP would be useful if your band couldn't afford a whole album, you'd try to Squeeze as much material you could down on to a 7" or 10" record. The maximum amount of music you can fit on the A and B sides of a Record  size..times have changed since that was commonplace, and things have obviously always bounced around between various media.

Most bands who would write more than 45 minutes needed a double album, let's say an hour's worth, that was at one point Deemed the LP (long play) because up till a cetrain time, record speeds dropped from 78 Rpm, down to 33 and a half RPM, and a 12" used to only play about 10 minutes a side @78RMP (you might get 12 minutes I don't know)
they still remained in 12" size but now could play Longer...hence Long play.
thanks to Cd's we see a lot less Double albums than we used to that is for sure!

So what about Earth's Extra-Capsular Extraction?  It's over 30min and it's still an EP.   :-k

Dumpster D

yeah, they just thought that it would be cool to have the EP Title on their release.

It doesn't really matter now, there is one size compact disc everything fits on.

depends if It was put out on 12" or a 10" or a 7" vinyl.
