Melvins Lite - Freak Puke

Freak Puke sounds more like a real Melvins album than anything done with the BB boys. The weirdness is back. I know Buzz & Dale make the Melvins into whatever the hell they want and of course ASA, NWB, and TBSM are real Melvins albums, but Freak Puke just sounds like the next phase of the band. It just doesn't feel like a one-off side project thing. It's got a bit of the old and a bit of new; new sound but some of that older feeling is back. It's like a looser, weirder Bootlicker.

You know you've been listening to a good album when the shit is stuck in your head for days. Buzz' riffs from Mr. Rip-Off and the title track have been looping in my head all the damn time. I'm standing there playing short stop on my beer league softball team and I got that fucking awesome middle part from Worm Farm Waltz just playing in my head.

Just listening to it through this laptop, my friend sent me mp4s and a communist flag and weird shirt from Vietnam..wow, this melvins album rules.

Actually fired up my old but busted out ghetto blaster...broken deck, it plays but no sound anymore and I can slightly hear it and its slow..wow, like a tank with no track, still makes a good bunker.

I just love how the old ghetto blasters have AV inputs!

This thing sounds tight! I miss it, it made the best band recordings too. 

Still can use it on my desk for a decent set of powered AUX speakers anyway.

Oh, just getting through BUll and bees too.. WOW.
