Gracias Stallion.  Good ol' Buzz.  I love that he and Dale are so talkative.

Here's hoping Melvins Lite come to Texas.

excellent, thanks for the link.

loved this part
QuoteNC: Was there ever a point when you were on a major label and opening big tours where you thought that you do might connect with the mainstream?

BO: No, not for even a millisecond. I always knew that was never going to work. The only people that didn't think it would work were me, [Melvins drummer] Dale [Crover] and the general public.

Nice interview ... not much leg pulling going on. Pretty indepth and informative. Good stuff. Lots of fat to chew on.

I notice Buzz saying that thing about 'old timers' pretty regularly. And as far as music in general goes, pretty spot on observation. Though in the case of Melvins I somewhat disagree, seems they're a magnet for us old shits (if this place is of any evidence). I just turned 40 days ago and have 3 Melvins tickets just waiting to go (I still go to lots of shows of all stripes). And while at Melvins shows the median is certainly younger; I still see a pretty high representation of old dumpy dudes in '90's era tour shirts.

Great interview; they must know each other or be close friends, cuz I have not read Buzz open up like that and really open up. This was also the first interview that I have read where he confessed to using.

On a side note, I saw Fantomas open for Tool in 2001 at MSG in NYC. Fantomas performance that night converted me into a fan of underground music that night. I was aware of their first album (they were touring in support of directors cut), but as soon as I heard that material played live, I knew that Fantomas had not just come out of nowhere and I had missed out on a lot of music; my homework was cut out for me to connect the dots from lake 80's hardcore (which I loved as a kid) to the underground scene as it was in the early 2000's

eh?  :?

I think BFPT was meaning that part where he's talking 'bout passing out from heat at gigs ... thou I read it as "before he started using ... a fan". It's worded kinda weird an I guess could be misconstrued. But that's what I thought ... a fan.
