Metallica wasn't right at all.  Illegal downloading just got far more rampant and Lars looked like a fucking fool in the process.  My favorite records were all made on a shoestring budget, I personally don't care if the majors take a nosedive into complete musical obscurity. They don't view music as anything other than another product, another division.

Indie labels need money to keep going too. They don't run on love and integrity.

Agreed. What some dont realize is that art in whatever form or medium is a business too. Without business and distribution you would have to literally scour the ends of the earth to find the music you want. Metallica was right but does it matter at all?

i don't believe in stealing it, or certainly couldn't come to terms with stealing music from bands i actually enjoy and/or respect, but there'll always be music

and the internet has sucked the joy of the journey and discovery from so many things. oh well no going back

(((O)))

Hmm i can see that but i would still say it's a YES and NO on that matter. Personally im still just as into discovering new music now as i ever was.

So what happened to the rest of this then?  :(

He said earlier in the thread that it will be released in parts.
when does this thread title change to "HOLY SHIT, PLEASE RELEASE THE VIDEO INTERVIEW!!!"

Guys, I don't get paid to do this.  I'll get to it when I can.  Part 2 should be up soon.  Noisey just put up a 28 minute vid with Buzz on Youtube.  That should be some good viewing.

Oooh, we've been put in our place. Shame on us all  [-X

Nah, it's not like that.  I'm pretty sure that most people didn't take it that way either.  Editing is a long process, so I do what I can with the time that I have.  Hopefully, most people understand.

No worries, I kinda figured you were just busting my balls but I wanted to be sure.  Gonna smoke a massive bat and try and get through it tonight.  Cheers, it's Friday night and I have a fuck-ton of new vinyl to listen to.

If I had a dollar for everytime I said something similar,  I'd probably have 8 or 9 dollars.

Thanks, dude.  I had a friend in from town for 5 days so it's been crazy.  Plus, I have over 100 records to listen to, picked up a huge collection for peanuts.  So yeah, it's my first real crack at it and it's hella fun times.

oh for sure, same here. maybe even more so, but that's part of my point. the elation of rare discovery isn't there so much. the highs aren't as high since it's easy to find what you're looking for, and the lows not so low, cause you can just go download/order more if you miss the target on one. the sheer mass of music we have access to makes each album a little less special.

could just be i'm becoming older and more jaded. there's certainly more factors involved
