That's the first time I've ever heard of that. I'd love to get my hands on one, but I imagine that's pretty difficult. What's it say, any idea?

I have no idea what it says.

They have played Israel once before actually. Club Barby  in Tel Aviv on 4-27-07. Whether it happens again, who knows.

Also my favorite poster I own.

Stunning, gorgeous poster....

Is it printed on velvet?

It says "Justice for Tel Aviv!" or some such thing. Michael Jordan went to this show, too.

Yes, as Idlehanz says, Michael Jordan is a Boardie here.

Unfortunate Michael Jordan story: in November 2011, he flew from Israel to London to see Melvins play at the Electric Ballroom in Camden. He made such a huge and expensive effort to get here because he'd never seen Melvins as a 4-piece and it was the chance to see them with two drummers that forced his decision. We met in the World's End before the show, got acquainted, and walked over the road to the venue just as it was opening.

As we walked in (among the first to enter) we saw that there was only one drum kit set up on stage. He looked at me. I looked at him. We both looked at Alesh the merch guy. Alesh looked back. We walked over to the merch table and Alesh told us that Coady had double-booked and had to go back to the U.S. to play a couple of gigs with his other band, leaving Dale to drum alone for the last two gigs of the tour.

You could have sawn off Michael Jordan's disappointment with a bread knife, rolled it into a huge ball and killed a load of nuns with it.

Of course, the other 99.99% of us were delighted as fuck to be given the chance to see Dale tackle it on his own again, just like the old days.

Uninteresting Michael Jordan story: the real Michael Jordan (basketball star) was born at EXACTLY the same time as me.

The End.

Schnabster

Any new dates for Melvins in Europe, or is it done? No Scandalnavia?

Haha Jules that was a great night nonetheless! I am stoked to see them any time, any place and with any lineup. I actually bought tickets to the Berlin shows so I'm hoping to finally get a chance to see the 4 piece lineup there.

Regarding the Israel show - I did not attend it. It would have been a dream come true for me to see them in Tel Aviv but I was living in Australia at the time. The sticker says: Aviv Mark zadak which means Aviv Mark was right. Aviv is a musician from Tel Aviv and a huge Melvins fan. Before The Melvins came to Tel Aviv he kept telling everyone that The Melvins are the greatest band in the world, and of course he was right :-) He also got me a signed poster and some other promo stickers from that show. Legend.

I heard from a sound guy in Bristol a few months back that they were coming down in spring. He also said that they were maybe doing more than one date there, playing eggnog and stoner witch on another night. I hope to god this isn't total bullshit.
