Finally had the extra scratch to buy my ticket for July, still can't believe the Melvins are playing Arch Street Tavern in Hartford!
How is that place? That's where I'm going.
Well, we'll always have "In the Air Tonight." Will that be your most enduring song?
You know, that song won't lie down. It just won't go away. I mean, there's a Mike Tyson moment associated with it now. It's just bizarre. I guess it has a bit of mystery, a lot of atmosphere, and the drums coming in, pinning people to the wall.

he hasn't been there yet, neither have I. were both going for the Melvins show though. yelp reviews seem average for what its worth.

I asked a friend who is also going who has been there before. he said its an average kind of watering hole. nothing exceptional.

sounds fine. hope the sound is decent. beer selection looks pretty good. hope the lines are clean.

pretty excited to see Melvins in Hartford myself. kind of surprised they are playing here.
the place where i sleep is cold and abandoned

Nice Moose! I knew I like ya when I saw your Gob Bluth avatar...ready for the new episodes? :D  I know several people who have played there and they all tell me the sound is decent. It is pretty intimate which also makes me surprised they are playing there too. My theory is they didn't wanna play the Webster cause that place sounds like shit, and maybe the old hot tub at Toad's grossed them out last time they played there with Trevor? :P  Seriously though, I am glad it's Arch Street instead of the Webster, the sound in there is the worst ever, not just for fans but for the performers. (Since it is essentially an old movie theater converted with horrible slap back delay on stage.) We should start a roll call list of the tour dates like we di with the 51/51 tour!
Los ticka toe rest

Yeah I'm stoked it's not in New Haven. Never been to the Webster. My buddy confirmed it's a pretty small place. Should be an interesting change from all the regular venues.

yep, ive seen way too many great bands play at the Webster and have the show ruined by terrible fucking sound. that place sucks and it get's way too many good shows for how bad it is. ive seen way too many shows at that hole.

we'll see how Arch street it. I think it will be cool just for the change of pace. I see Dinosaur Jr. is playing there a few days before Melvins. found that interesting as well.

I wouldn't have minded Toads again because the sound is always good there. I would have loved if they played the dome at Oakdale though. that place is fucking amazing. I want to see more bands play that place.
