Security got really heavy handed with a crowd surfer. Gave the kid a couple of digs and a headbutt. Next bit I don't know what happened. Couple of minutes later the security started to mass up then steamed into the middle to pull the dude out. He didn't go quietly. I think a couple of the staff got punched by the dudes friends. That got them frenzied. Acted like fucking savages. My sons girlfriend got hit in head by one of them. Then they just went in hard on anyone who challenged them over their heavy handedness. It ruined an awesome set.
Goes whenever they are here

One insecurity guy took a drum stick off someone outside the venue as people were leaving and refused to give it back. The guy was heartbroken: "But the drummer gave it to me."  So unnecessary.

On a brighter note: Jared's turban was hilarious and beautiful.

Tonight: Oldernie, Mac and Mrs. Bastard, SL, Helen83, Monkey L.Duffy.

Helen and I went to the cinema. Kind of a first date thing.

oldernie

2 lads shouting for there friend kevin all night ruined it for me.

if you heard/saw this too, or you are on here,
i am the guy that took your iphone out of your hand and told you to shut the fuck up if you want it back. i hope i meet you again.
"To be honest i've kind of gone off the band a bit now. I just like to hang out on here because of everyone else."

Hot Pants

that sucks, Ernie. sorry it was ruined for you. really shitty to have an evening out ruined by inconsiderate assholes.

Good goddamn London, thanks for 2 insane shows! Less punching next time, but good (and weird) vibes by and large!

yeah. sounds like an interesting show. too bad about overzealous security. that always sucks.
the place where i sleep is cold and abandoned
you can't even fathom a hole being dug so deep

The missus and I were trying to figure out what was going on there with the crowd. Lame.
I was behind the sound engineers all night - the resident soundie and his mate looked at each other and one said "Not him again", so I guess the security guy is well known for it by the staff at the venue. Hopefully he'll get his P45 today.

That said, the crowd seemed to be better on Sunday night over Monday.

Petty I know, but some young girl walked round and round the venue all night staring at her phone in her hand. It was a struggle to get past her - and we watched as others had the nightmare, too. I was pretty happy when some guy frustratingly tried to walk past her, but she just kept moving forwards into him never around...so he just swiped her aside. She looked shocked. It seemed to be a long time coming.

The real boner revealed himself at the start of the second set. I think Lividity was the opening song. 10 mins of build up only for some tool to shout "Get on with it" right before they kicked into the next song. Buzz hushed him, thankfully but it killed it for me.
I could probably understand that at a regular show, but when you are going to watch them exclusively play two LP's, surely you know what to expect, right??

I will never understand why some pay to go see a show and end up chatting instead of watching and listening, especially back with the bar behind the mix area on saturday. Is it even possible to chat on a Melvins-gig?

Unfortunately, yes.  I've seen it/heard it dozens of times. I'll never understand it.

Un-fucking-believable. What an anus jibblet.

I had an absolutely cracking night, I think I enjoyed last night more than Sunday. Apart from the security which was quite shocking - their 'technique' for handling crowdsurfers seemed to be wait until they get near to the barrier and then punch them to the ground, then keep on punching them a bit more! They could have put signs up saying 'no crowdsurfing' but they didn't. The bit where the security all piled in to the crowd to grab the guy was in the noisy two minutes or so at the start of Magic Pig Detective - Buzz was leaning over to see what was going on. It was a bit surreal.

What do they expect when even Jared throws himself into the crowd at the end on sundays gig? That says for all that thats ok.

oldernie

id like to see those same security guys at a trash talk show.
they would really have there work cut out then.

as i said before, these idiots shouting kevin all night, i was saying to them, to shut up and that i came to listen to the band and not them,
but also if the band could hear them shouting kevin, although they were looking for there friend, it could sound like an insult like they are shouting for kevin rutmanis,
they were just a pair of drunk kids, but i was surprised when i started having a go at them that no one else chimed in with me, as if i was the only one annoyed with this playground mentality.

I'm glad to see all those attitudes, insecurity guys as much as unbearable crowd, are not specific to France. I'm sad it exists everywhere though, and it ruined the evening for many of you. Lame.

Anybody with anything to say about the security last night - here's a link to contacting the venue:

Only went on Sunday (little bloke in effeminate, too small, red Art Brut tee shirt with larger bald friend standing at the back with my back to the mixing desk), didn't see any boardies (only know oldernie and Jules) did pop my head into the Prince beforehand but didn't recognise anyone (and went across the road for slightly cheaper beer).

That disappointment aside, Sunday's show was almost perfect, the best I've seen the 2 drummer line-up play. Super dense sound, closing your eyes the soundscape conjoured was a giant black granite ball rolling through tar crushing tall buildings as it went. They were great, really wish I'd got a Monday ticket :(.

Almost perfect? There was a lot of bottle throwing going on (one ended up on stage as Jared pointed out, but more went back into the mass of the crowd). These people are cunts and deserve death. Also, £4.50 for a 330ml bottle of Beck's???? Get to fuck.

Sorry I missed you all :(
