real quick here....
great show, as expected.
really loud and brutal sound.
it was my first time seeing big business with a guitarrero. good stuff... i liked especially the last song they played. i am not really familiar with their stuff. i only have the "head for the shallow" LP. on record it is kinda too hectic for me. works well live though, mainly because of coadys impressive show.

melvins lite came on an played the already known set. like i said it was really loud and buzz seemed to have a somewhat more aggressive / sloppier style of playing than the recent shows i saw... maybe it was just me though... anyway, it was great to see dale hammering away solo and trevor was fantastic too.
during the band intro buzz was again quite chatty and said that he "is really happy that california changed its laws so that dale and he can finally get married!" ...funny guy as usual...
they ended the set with the coady/dale show... at the very end they played the drum intro of "lovely butterfly" and i was hoping trevor and buzz would join in again...
well at least it is not a long wait until next week for the berlin residency!

MERCH: they still had all 3 shirts available (Melvins L + XL only, BB all sizes). Plus the Bristol Posters. NO vinyl / CDs were displayed yesterday.
I had a quick chat with the merch guy, Gerry (?)... he was very nice, but wouldn't answer my question if there will be any special merch for the residency shows....

next up is italy: Stallion & Jules enjoy!!

Alex-

Nice review buddy :)

Suprising you're not really into Big Business. Still, you should give Here Come The Waterworks a listen though.

Buzz was very chatty here last week as well, pheraps he feels more comfortable talking with this formation or something.

I'm afraid they won't have any special vinyl releases at the residency shows.. I guess they should have announced it by now. They are also not playing in Austria this tour, so Rock is Hell can't arrange something as well.

See you next week :)

How much was beer at the venue, Buddy?
i only drank water yesterday.
geneva is always cheap because they sell the beer in the exact cans like they buy 'em from the retailer. it's probably around CHF 4.- for 5dl (£ 2.70). at rote fabrik you need to calculate with around £5.- for 5dl.
