While I'm not 100% on everything here I certainly applaud the overall wackiness of the proceedings ... nutty shit indeed! Sometimes it works. Sometimes not so much. Regardless I dig that they walk the outskirts.

Buzz's current flashes of Vai-ness (as in Steve) are in turns threatening and hilarious ... great stuff! Lots of seemingly effect drenched and processed wacked out solos and melody lines ... which seems weird to begin with ... not a lot of that in the canon ... but here it's all over the place.

I was never big on that 1st. '83 ep ... ok I suppose ... pretty straight up rock ... but in the mix here I've garnered a new appreciation ... they foil nicely in the running order. With the weird songs that pad them out bringing out and high lighting different hues.

The running order flows great ... nice push and pull of gravity and ridiculousness ... works really well.

I Told You I Was Crazy - masterpiece theater ... music, instrumentation, vocals, production, mood ... chilling. Easily my fave on here and the biggest surprise upon first listen. With all the "rawk" they've been bringing the last few years this really jumped out.

99 Bottles - Man that part where they sing "99 bottles of beer, 99 bottles of ..." all whiny a capella ... that's gold, the best.

City Dump - Classic Melvins stomp und drang ... dig the drumming on this one alot, killer groove and great fills & flourishes. Buzz sounds nasty and pissed! Great song title.

American Cow - Nice flow ... slow and low ... sick guitar bends snaking all over ... Buzz sounds like a smarmy asshole on this one ... ha ha ha!

Stick 'Em Up Bitch - Still haven't heard the original. The opening riff is killer shit kicking boots! Is Buzz singing "What's Wrong/I'm One with the leash/the cane"? "What's Wrong/I'm One with the beast/the cave"? Whatever, they're kicking all kinds of shit at and it sounds nasty and mean! And that outro ... pure campfire sing along fun!

Ok so I got this two weeks ago and haven't had time to post. I was semi pessimistic about this release as I own over half the tracks on various vinyls already. I wasn't sure that the few tracks I hadn't heard would wow me....boy was I wrong! "Dogs and Cattle Prods"....holy shit! What crazy awesome track! It almost sounds like they recorded the first part and kept coming up with cool ideas and adding on. Love this track! Also, "I told You I was Crazy", another killer track and I love the organ at the beginning. I believe that is Toshi? I like when they utilize him on keys. All that being said, I do love the Cd as whole and the way all the tracks work together, even the ones I've been listening to for over a year now. It's nice to hear everything in the context of one album. Dan Halen is giving Tres Cabrones three thumbs up!

^ It's such an awesome album. "Dogs & Cattle Prods" and "I Told You I Was Crazy" are probably my two favorites...
Also pretty sure that is Buzz on Synth all over the album. Especially on the intro to "I Told You.."

Have to admit I don't think much of it. I still really like the Melvins 1983 EP those songs are good but a few of the songs on the album are just silly and obvious filler due to a lack of material. Dr Mule is the worst opening album song I've ever heard.

Aside from a few songs on ELS the only releases I've really liked since NWB are the B&B EP and the 1983 EP. I'd like to see the Melvins concentrate on EP's in future without the need to pad out an album's length.

Full albums help save me about 5 million dollars on individual songs over a billion vinyl ep's that are a pain to go switch all the time.
My full albums like Bride, Nude, Freak, Lysol , Honky , Stag ( ! ) 
also get way more play than any of the 7"s . that's for sure.

i was surprised by the amount of filler in the record. Army and bottles should have stayed e.p. material. Crazy is one of the coolest songs they've done in a decade and I would have loved to hear more songs in that direction.
