Added it to my Google Streaming Library AND bought the CD.

That means Melvins get some money from Google every time I play their song as well as their cut from the CD sale.  8)

Is this through google music? Do they really get money every time you play it? If yes I'll get all their records there, mo support. :buzz:

Tres Cabrones is great. Dogs and Cattle prods reminds me of Pink Floyd (meddle/barrett solo stuff) and even Led Zep III. I hope they can do another 1983 album in the future.

All artists get 70% of sales through Google Music. The other 30% goes to Google. So for an album of $12.99, Melvins would get $9 directly in their pocket. Not sure what cut Ipecac would get though - that's probably up to them.

As for streaming, I'd imagine Melvins and other artists only getting some sort of micro decimal payment each time a song is streamed through their subscription service, but those details are not public. In any case, they do definitely get something.

Nice to hear an acoustic guitar on this album, been over a decade since we last heard Buzz play one!

i had to recently explain this

They More You Know  :D

The songs Walter's Lips, Stump Farmer , Stick em up Bitch and Psycho-Delic Haze were put out last year on a limited edition 10" called Melvins 1983. City Dump, 99 Bottles of Beer and In The Army Now are from the limited 7" Gaylord that cam out in July. American Cow is from the limited edition Bash 13 10" Amrep put out in July. Dr Mule is from the Scion A/V 10 comp and also will be out on a split 7" with Helmet to coincide with their Australian tour together. Tie My Pecker to a Tree, I Told You I Wa Crazy and Dogs And Cattle Prods have only just been released on this album, so far ;) I know Haze from Amrep is crazy busy as is, not sure if the last songs will see a vinyl release from them unless they do the whole album but i don't see that happening , although Ipecac has put out this cd , i think i'd be nice to see a standard vinyl release of this from them , or another Easy Riding record label??? :)

Anyone else order from Amazon? If you do you get a free copy of the album in mp3 format, which should tide you over until it ships.

I did, but I'll wait for the CD! I haven't been withdrawn yet...
Funny thing about preorders on Amazon is that they are most of the time cheaper to order on the .com than on my country's version of the site, even (and especially) with the shipping.

I pre ordered this through Amazon forever ago. I have 'Prime' which is supposed to guarantee delivery on the release day....
This was my first test of this "Guarantee"...

Guess what didn't show up yesterday?......

Yes, I have those, but it would still be preferable to have the LP on vinyl.  Several of those 7 songs have now been remixed for the LP.
