Mark Lanegan just cancelled all of his east coast tour dates due to an illness.

That was the first report. I may be an asshole for this, but my first speculation was a relapse.

Turns out it was a car accident in LA. Not his fault, he was sober as a church mouse.

Back to the Melvins, it may turn out to be a show stopping illness, but it's just human nature to speculate until we hear the truth. We always get to the bottom of shit on this BBS.

The Melvins have not had a break in a long time. Not only that, they all have side projects out the ass. This could lead to any of the previously mentioned suspicions our friends here have mentioned.

Here's my concern, Melvins had some major gigs lined up. The 25th Anniversary Alt Tenticles show at Slims and the GAMH show. Not only these, but a tour of Europe for fucks sake. Something bad is going on here for them to cancel that. Thay have bills to pay like the rest of us and touring and selling merch keeps food on the table.

I am worried sick over this.

Hopefully they are just tired of Jello already.

I've been wanting to discuss that for ages!

If it's alright with Tony, I just wanted to say that the people on the Ipecac BBS are in the dark about it as well.

Actually my friend Danny . . . who is friends with the tour manager gave me the scoop. Kevin has been missing doses of his meds and been stopping songs in the middle of them and starting new ones . . . anyway . . . from how it sounds . . . Buzz got pissed and pretty much fired Kev on the spot. They probably won't be resuming the tour . . . and will probably have start all from scratch with a new bassist. Anyway . . . that is what a friend of a friend of a friend told me . . ."

...Well, perhaps this explains what's going on I am sorry to say. Still, this is second or even third hand info. All I know is that he was acting pretty bizarre at the show I was at. I certainly wish him well and hope he gets whatever it may be wrong with him straightened out.

Some of your guys explanations sound hoaxy as shit.

But if they do dump Kevin, I'm behind what someone else said. Bring forth Kunka.

This is so sad. I ordered planetickets from Norway to Netherlands last week just to see them. I can always go see Dillinger Escape Plan on friday, but it's just not the same. Let's just hope that The Melvins will rise again stronger than ever

like the joe preston.

deadressed.

i really think that all of this shit about kevin sounds ridiculous. I saw them less than a month ago and they all seemed perfect...tight as ever. now, i know things can deteriorate pretty quickly in bands but it just seems like the melvins have been through shit like this before and would've resolved the situation before going on the road for months and months. i think that at the age the melvins are at they are mature enough to know if they have problems. i don't think a reasonable, respectful man would fuck over his band a month into being on the road and i have no reason to believe that kevin isn't.

i hope everything ends up ok with them.

kevin>all other melvins bassists

Amen to that!  I think Kevin is awesome in the Melvins and I hope he's OK.  And still in the band.
