EGO the Living Planet

Tim Moss (The MELVINS tour manager) posted on stonerrock.com that the quote about Kevin and the meds is not true.

THANK GOD!

it didnt exactly seem very realistic.

but its stupid putting out info like that.

I think we should stop speculating too muc about this, and just hope that everything is okay!

I hate to hear that ANY one of those guys are having some kind of crisis, not matter what it is.  Even though it does suck to not know what's actually going on, there'd be nothing you and I could do about it.  All you people who are jumping to conclusions need to cool yo' jets.

All that aside I bet that unbeknownst to me, whatever was wrong was already happening right in front of my eyes 2 weeks ago.

anaconda

so how was that show?? did anything seem amiss as far as you could tell??

LBowles

I didn't notice anything too wrong a month ago when I saw them in Lawrence, except they played an extremely short set.

But i kind of assumed that was because they all hate lawrence.  :D

FantoMANKY

The show I saw was one of the first of the tour.  Kevin was walking around the club before the show and seemed kind of lost.  Not to say that anything was wrong, we thought he was just really drunk or something but looking back it wouldnt surprise me if something wasnt quite right with him.  Hope im wrong about it and everything if fine with him, the rest of the band and their families.

Reverend Ebeneezer

You know what really gets me? When these Ipecac bands cancel a european tour it NEVER gets fucking compensated. Tomahawk dropped out last year and promised to make up for it, that didn't happen, and now I'll bet it's another year or two before the Melvins come back here. It's just not on. If someone's on smack and fucking up performances, don't book the show.

As it stands, I hope that all the guys are OK, but stand by my assertion that if it was anyone but Buzz, they should've replaced that member and carried on. It's not like they've been shy of ridding people through 'illness' before, I mean, when Lorax got dopesick Buzz hoofed her...
Don't cut me!DON'T CUT ME!
-Thrones, Simon Legree live...

We just have to wait and see, it just as may be that a family member is ill, so the speculating should be laid to rest.

RockStarVixen

The show on Sept 21st in Spartanburg kicked ass.....I didn't notice anything"off", but it was also my first time seeing these guys live....they had not played there in five years so I was stoked.

I just hope everything is OK....

I didn't notice anyone looking "off" during the Athens show but it was my first time so I didn't have any kind of previous baseline to compare that to.  I don't think I'd be able to tell just from the way someone was acting on stage how they were in real life anyway.  I mean, people can play through a lot of pain and nobody but like their mother would catch on.

Bad Gas

The show I saw the Melvins play in Salt Lake City destroyed. There was nothing off, and Kevin put on the best performance of any bassist I've seen with the Melvins, and I've seen the Melvins numerous times.

If for some crazy reason the Melvins ever need another bassist, let's just say I'd love to see David Wm. Sims in action again.

klump

hehe, i think kevin is even cooler than Sims, he is a twisted fellow and thats why we love him!

i wouldnt want ANY other bass player!

DAYV

i was at the show in lawrence, and the only time buzz talked to the crowd was right before the last song and he asked the crowd if anyone knew what time it was because kevin was due to take his medication. it was funny at the time, but now, well, who knows?
