Who would you like to see Melvins collaborate with next?

I think it'd be great if they did an entire album with J.G. Thirwell. "Mine is No Disgrace" and "Station to Station" are both among my favorites from their respective albums.  I think that would be more interesting than the Jello Biafra albums.

In terms of new collaborations...my dream would be the melvins with the residents.  Both bands are very prolific, have never broken up, and do their own thing. It would have to be weird by default but good as hell.

THIS. Not even as a player, just record an album with him at his studio. WHY HASN'T THIS HAPPENED YET?

Some other names:

Les Claypool
Michael Gira
Henry Rollins
Attila Csihar
Death Grips
Merzbow
Nurse With Wound
Bootsy Collins

I believe the reason this hasn't happened is that Buzz had a falling out with Steve.  Rumor is Steve was talking shit about the Melvins behind their backs.  Let me make it clear that I don't know if this is true or not.

One would think a Swans/Michael Gira collab would be a no-brainer.
Henry Rollins, on the other hand, has retired from the music-making business, so I doubt that would ever happen.

This needs to happen. My two favorite bands. I would settle for a tour together.

I was thinking Rollins too, but not as in backing band for rock songs like Jelvins. More like Henry's dark thoughts/rants with Melvins providing the background music. There's a great track on Les Claypool's "Highball With The Devil" which comes to mind.
There's also a really good Rollins spoken album "Everything" which has some great, dark stuff(excerpts from Eye Scream book) with Rashied Ali & Charles Gayle bashing and wailing away in the background.

Albini seems to have softened a bit on his Melvins stance...I recall him being more appreciative as of late. Maybe it's political points of view?

seems to me like it's more about being happy with doing it themselves/with Toshi.

I have often thought about what Dale's drums would sound like if they ever did record with him...but I doubt Buzz would be as down with his vocals getting buried in the mix.

would be cool to see...stranger things have happened.

Precisely.  Why would they bring in someone else when they can get record the album with Toshi and get exactly what they want out of it? Toshi has been with them since HAT and he does a damn fine job.

This might sound weird, but how about Iommie and Ozzy?
