I haven't heard the record yet. Amazon says it'll hopefully arrive on the 18th. I'm going to try to hold off listening to it until then.

Bear with me here cause I'm pretty stoned, but man I haven't been THIS taken aback by an album in quite awhile. The first three songs, the trifecta. Each one of those songs evoke strong emotion in me. It's intense. Especially You Can Make Me Wait and Brass Cupcake but still the Bride Of Crankenstien really does too. "Berthas" was always my go to feel good song. Now it's Brass Cupcake. Then Barcelona is when just drugs REALLY kick in and there's MORE!!! I haven't listened enough to get to know it like a whole piece yet. So it just keeps getting better and better after every listen. By next week it'll be Nine Yards I'll be rambling' all stoned about.

Thats awesome, I haven't heard too much of it all yet but so far I'm loving sesame street meat and you can make me wait, as thats all I've heard so far. I cant wait for the 30th I'm holding off reading any set lists posted or seeing any videos. I wanna hear brass cupcake now after what you said especially if it took over berthas for you!

Brass Cupcake has been receiving some harsh treatment on Facebook.
I zoned out the first couple of times I heard it, but every listen since then, I love it a little more.
I listened to fm radio on the way home from work tonight.
Do people not realize how horrible non-Melvins music has gotten lately?
Don't they understand this golden age of Melvins that we're living in, right now?  [-X

What's the deal with the fadeout at the end of Onion? Strangest end to a Melvins song. EVER!

Agreed, Meezer. I haven't listened to the radio in almost 10 years now. I'd buy the guy who invented mp3s a round for sure.
Although last time i heard it was in '06 when they had Patton in the studio on Triple JJJ. They played a song from Suspended Animation, it was hilarious because they gave a warning to the audience that the song was going to be weird like as in a forward apology.

Brass Cupcake is a boss. It's an instant classic like Queen/Revolve.

Here's my review. I really, really liked this one. As good as bulls and bees if you ask me.

Too early? I seem to remember that Tres Cabrones was up immediately.
That's why joined, to post on that sucker.

I'm really enjoying this album. Great comparison to Stag, by Dan Halen and others.
This one goes all over the place, in all of the best ways possible.
Pinkus and Leary make great musical partners, as well as injecting a healthy dose of butthole
into the project. I've been pulling hair out in chunks, just waiting for this one to materialize
(we first heard about this project, as a proposed ep, in the early summer or 2013).
So, any thoughts on Hold It In? I've listened to it about twenty times, but I don't quite feel ready to write a review, yet. Gotta go!  :later:

It can be a little hard to reconcile one's admiration for the Melvins – three decades old as a band – with the fact that they haven't made a consistently great album since 2006's '(A) Senile Animal'.

:bs:

Allmusic gave the latest Melvins album their usual 7/10 rating as well.  I'm pretty sure they could put any combination on notes of the album at this point and it'll never score any higher.

Same thing with Pitchfork They never give Melvins the love (Although they do seem to like them)

I was wondering when the pitchfork 6/10 would rear its ugly head.  Those guys are like clockwork.

And unsurprisingly they give Buzz credit for singing Leary's parts on Brass Cupcake

Dear Melvins,
I swear it's me, not you. I want to like you. Do you think I could get you to try on this scarf and these skinny jeans?
