The Hold It In LP release date has been pushed back to December 16th.

- Interpunk

I'll patiently wait for the LP release date.

Damn, what a fantastic album! \:D/

I streamed a digi late last night with ATTACK OF THE GIANT LEECHES on mute in the background.

Too soon for a review or rating but I will say I had to pause it more than a few times just to absorb everything I was taking in. It was glorious.

I'm on my 4th run through.  I keep hearing new things each time.

Someone earlier in the thread made a rough comparison to Stag because of it's all over the place nature.  Well coincidentally this the most excited I've been about hearing a new Melvins album since Stag came out.

After listening to this a handful of times, I hope they record with this line-up again.
Fun record.

Eyes On You
The Bunk Up
I Get Along (Hollow Moon)
House Of Gasoline

are my current stand outs.

After about 15 or so more spins I think I need to add
Onions Make The Milk Taste Bad
Brass Cupcake > Barcelonian Horseshoe Pit
Sesame Street Meat
Piss Pisstopherson

This one didn't hit me as quickly as Freak Puke but I liked it instantly better than my first few listens to Tres Cobrones.
Really great album.
Much like Melvins (Lite) I hope to hear more from this version of the band.

i LOVE this album.  i expected to, but MAN, it's fucking GOOD.
i'm happy that other people are comparing it to STAG-- i thought the same thing.  in my opinion, it's easily the "weirdest" album they've done since then (discounting COD) ... but shit, with pinkus and leary, how could it not be weird?  and, as strange as some of it (most of it) may be, i feel like it also has some of their most accessible songs, dare i say "radio friendly."

really great record.  better than some of the more recent stuff, even.
here's hoping i can score the "bride" 10" before the LP release...  it'd be weird having one and not the other..

i wish they were touring new england  :(

I get a strong POTRE vibe for 9min during Barcelonian Horseshoe Pit and Onions Make the Milk Taste Bad.

I also love how the three songs Paul Leary wrote (You Can Make Me Wait, Eyes on You, and I Get Along) sound like they could have been Butthole Surfers songs.  Try listening to all three of those in a row and tell me it doesn't sound like it could have been a Butthole Surfers EP!  It gives me a lot of faith that if they ever decide to write another album it will be pretty damn good.

This is another excellent Melvins album.   8)
Buttholeman is a power tripping emotional abuser.  He censors my posts and says I need mental health help.  He's a jerk.  Please don't listen to him.  People DO love and respect your opinions.  I'm one of those people.  I love you. PM me if you're stressed.

Yes I made that comment...for me I would say this is the most excited I have been about a new Melvins album since Hostile Ambient Takeover came out.

I don't think I linked this, but here's my review if anyone wanted to check it out. I've been super busy so I wrote it in about an hour after only a couple listens. But this is what I got:

Here is what is passing for an NME "review"

7 / 10 It can be a little hard to reconcile one's admiration for the Melvins – three decades old as a band – with the fact that they haven't made a consistently great album since 2006's '(A) Senile Animal'. They normally strike a few bullseyes per record though, and so it is with 'Hold It In', which finds stalwart Melvins Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover joined by Butthole Surfers members Paul Leary and JD Pinkus. Sometimes it's poppier than textbook Melvins ('I Get Along (Hollow Moon)'), sometimes noisier and more freeform ('Barcelonian Horseshoe Pit'), but there's ample helpings of the Pacific Northwestern weirdo-sludge that their fans adore them for, 'Piss Pisstopherson' and 'Sesame Street Meat' two finely-titled examples.

Allmusic gave the latest Melvins album their usual 7/10 rating as well.  I'm pretty sure they could put any combination on notes of the album at this point and it'll never score any higher.
