VHS to DVD question... nerd techs rise up!

So I'm looking to upload my old MELVINS video concerts to YouTube.  I have an Mini DV cassette camcorder that I recorded  shows with and transferred older shows to DV mini tape with.  It still works but I feel it's time to convert this shit to DVD and upload to YouTube before it's too late.  I have no knowledge about what's best to use.  I looked at Honestech and Roxio VHS to DVD hardware/software products but both have mixed reviews.  Also, I really don't want to spend $70+ on doing this...I've poured way to much money into this hobby over the years.  Can someone steer me in the right direction???  Better yet, does anyone have a converter box and software I can use to transfer my stuff???  I will reimburse shipping cost.  I used to be on the old Melvins nerd list back in the day and some people here might be able to vouch for my impeccable online character (heheh).    Below is a pic of basically what I'm working with...RCA out cable.  Any information would be appreciated!

Depending on the outputs available on your camcorder, you'll need a way to get it into your computer, either through the usb port, or through a video card with audio/video inputs. 
Some people use this:

You can usually find it on ebay for around $10 shipped; I've never used it though.

If you have a costco nearby, they also can transfer it to DVD.  I think they charge around $20 per tape.

My shows go back to 1995 but my camera is 2001.

That should work.  If you're going to transfer it from your camcorder, you might need to get three male-female a/v cables (one for the video, and two for the audio).

Looks good, sounds great. 

Youtube does a weird thing about long videos, anything longer than 15 minutes, they want to verify you. ( https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/71673?hl=en ) 
What format is the entire video in?  mp4?  avi?

Thanks!  Videos formatted in MP4.  I would have to give Goggle/YouTube my phone number to do videos over 15 minutes but I'm OK with the limit.  More videos coming!
