It´s maybe a more european desire. You lucky americans get every line-up they have but I think the last 3-5 times they played Europe (except Melvins lite), they always were a 4 piece. And now, when they´re a three piece with a buttkicking bass player (and quite a few europeans are happy because of this) again they maybe decide to change before the european leg of the tour.
That´s quite a bummer..
Has two bands with ridicolous names.

Good point!  I hadn't thought of the number of times they had toured Europe as a 4 piece vs. a 3 piece.

But Europe gets all the really good doom bands all the time...

Not sure how many times I have to say this....but.....just move to Los Angeles.

You will get to see every possible Melvins line-up plus all kinds of cool special shows.

The weather is awesome, the food is amazing, the movie theaters are great, the museums rule, the hiking is amazing, the ocean rules, the freaks will actually freak you out, weed is practically legal here, Joshua Tree is two hours away...

I mean since I have moved to Los Angeles, I have seen Melvins Lite play at a Cemetery, Melvins as a two piece, Melvins with Pinkus, Melvins with Pinkus and Coady, Melvins with Big Biz, Melvins 1983, Melvins play a private warehouse party. I have met and smoked weed with Tom Green. I have met and smoked mad amounts of hash with Greg Ginn. I have taken bass lessons with Kira of Black Flag. I have met Werner Herzog. I have met Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. I have had Big Business play in my living room. I have had Mike Watt play in my living room. I have had George Clinton play in my living room. I have had Wayne Horvitz of Naked City play in my living room.

Sure, I got to do some cool shit and meet some cool people when I lived in Seattle, but it always rained there. And the Melvins do not live there.

Yeah, if I was younger and didn't have kids, I'd move to LA in a heartbeat. LA is just exploding with great music these days. Granted when I lived in SF I got to see some pretty cool Melvins shows that were "special" and I'm really glad my ass ended up in MPLS because I get to see some pretty special shows here too. I do wish I could move to LA for a bit though, and that's one thing I thought I would NEVER say but it's true.

Seattle? It's nice if you like Amazon, condos and rain. It is my home away from home.

Not anymore, the Lusty Lady shut down about a year after I moved.

Some say I single handedly altered the Puget Sounds ecosystem.

Lusty Lady is gone, Mama's Mexican Kitchen is about to close and the artists & musicians are being pushed out of the city to make way for expensive rent and new condos for Amazon. Pearl Jam is still there if that is of any value.
