September 6th Seattle at Bumbershoot.  That same day Faith No More is headlining.

Cool!  Have they ever played Bumbershoot before?  I know they've played the Capitol Hill Block Party.

It's a 3-day music/arts fest at the Seattle Center.  Flatstock (gig posters/screen prints) is there every year.  I've always had a good time.  There are maybe a half-dozen stages (plus a stadium for the headline acts) around the area.  Went one day last year and got to see Hobosexual/Sandrider/Red Fang back to back to back, which was tits.

Babes in Toyland on Saturday will be great too.

Bumbershoot is one of the more user-friendly festivals around I think. Easy to get to and from, big sprawling park-like setting in downtown Seattle under the Space Needle, tons of stages, lots of great food options, and they've moved the main stage out from Key Arena to the outdoor stadium, which is an improvement. Flatstock is great too, for in between bands. I've always had a really good time there, and I generally shy away from festivals.

I'm a little bummed we'll most likely get a truncated festival set from Melvins, as they are on the main stage and I imagine Social Distortion will play after them and before FNM, so I can't imagine Melvins getting more than 45 or 50 minutes, but we'll see. I might have to head up to Vancouver for a full set.
