I don't know if you heard but... they were originally scheduled to play a small club in Detroit that night.  then I got a notice telling me the show was indefinitely postponed.   next thing I know jerkys around here are telling me they are opening for system of a down at a shitty mega-arena that night instead.     $89 a ticket.       I have heard NOTHING more regarding that "indefinitely postponed" club show.  I still sit and look longingly at my tickets for hours on end.    hoping and dreaming that someday... maybe.... I could see MELVINS for the 24th time.    :D

That mega-arena's probably nicer than you think. Air-conditioned and everything.

ya see that black spot way down inside there where it costs three digits to sit in a seat that you have to keep your ass in?   that's where the music happens.   I'd be like the guy there in the blue hat making a move on his lady.    and maybe if his was lady was there I actually would be making a move on her.        but either way it pretty much sucks when I stood close enough to get buzz's fro fly-aways up my nose at the last 7 consecutive MELVINS shows.

Got you added. How about our Parisians? Bloated Pope? Sexy Grampa? Zorn? Anyone going to Paris? France, not Kentucky!  :o

Meeeeh... I should be working at this time of the year. But I might try to get some work around Paris and stop by Angers on my way. Sounds like a plan! Still hesitating due to the Parisian crowd, but I've never seen the band as a three-piece yet (will they play as a three-piece anyway?) and it's been quite a long time I haven't seen them. I'm already starting to organize as I write this post.  :D

the pyramid scheme is ghey.  real men with backbones go to the heart of Motown to see bands, not GR hipster city.    I want to fear for my life while entering and leaving the venue and constantly be wondering if my vehicle is going to be there when I start for home.  not be the most intimidating person in the parking lot at 1:30 am.     its danger or nothing for me.

all that being said... I hope it rains like a motherfucker in Clarkston Michigan tonight.

EGO the Living Planet

Ugh. The GR show was sold out by the time I got to looking into it.

Kinda thinking about going to Pine Knob tonight but it's not really nearby and I have to work a double starting early tomorrow.

Real bummed about this.
