Damnit!  The Spokane show is already sold out.  Haven't lived there for over 15 years so I don't quite have the connections I used to and this must be a new venue because I've never heard of it.  Hopefully I can figure something out...

Is Minneapolis ever going to get a non-fest/non-Grumpy's show again? Probably not, right?

Yah that's pretty much it right there.

I kinda feel the same way but, hey, life goes on....
Last BASH they played that evening show the night before indoors which made me feel a little more snug and warm inside.

Hey Judy, I will attend the Paris show. Booked the flights yesterday.
I hope they play another show somewhere nearby in September, too.
Very nice!   :D Seeing Melvins in Paris sounds magical. I had the opportunity to study art history there back in 2005. Beautiful city. What's the venue like?

Le Bataclan is an awesome venue, old café-concert/music hall from the 19th century. The maximum capacity is 1500 which is quite good for the Melvins (in Paris they usually play in venues around 600-700 max capacity)! They have a good scheduling IMO, I've only been there three times to see Kyuss, Gojira and L7 few weeks ago. Never been disappointed and I guess I won't be this time if I manage to be there!

(I've just seen that the ticket is pretty expensive though, 38€, last time was around 25€...)

Beautiful! Man, it just dawned on me that that was the place Fantomas was playing when I was there. I was heading back to the city from the palace of versailles and the stupid bus I was on broke down causing me to miss the show. I don't think I'll ever get over that  :? :(

Europe has some really fantastic looking venues.

i'll be there.
it's a bit of a bummer that there will be no club show in swtzerland this time around. but at least they have a headliner slot on this festival.
the festival itself is nice, there is a hotel right next to the venue.
they also let people sleep on the floor of the venue itself for cheap.
the festival overall is strongly focused towards stoner, doom, psychedelic, retro rock.
Hey buddy, what's the venue like for the festival?

I'll be there. A hotel is sounding better than festival floor atm. :)

I never went to concerts in Paris. Since I will be on vacation in October and there are no dates in Germany announced yet the Bataclan sounded like a great opportunity to watch the Melvins for sure. The pictures of the place really look great. Much fancier than the places I have seen the Melvins play here in Berlin.

Melvins aren't going to go all the way to Europe from the middle of September to the middle of October and only play 6 shows, be patient and more dates will be announced

the venue does normally not host any festivals. it is the no.1 address for metal shows. sound is usually pretty good. last time i was at a festival there is 15 yrs ago. back then they had the big stage indoor and a small stage outdoor.

if you want the hotel then book soon. it is the IBIS HOTEL PRATTELN, which is barely 5min walk to the venue.

i have other plans for the 13th already.
so that also means that if they play brighton it will be shortly after the 13th. which will not work for me because i can not take off a day so short after vacation.
are you planning to travel again to catch multiple shows?

i may do a short trip if there is a show on a saturday somewhere in austria / germany where i can get a cheap flight.
