They played from 12:30 am to 1:30 am. Most animated I have seen King Buzzo in years. No merchandise. Amazing show, they played 5 of my 6 favorite Melvin's songs. Very happy to see the four piece version again. Amazingly tight. I hope someone taped it.

Wonder if they're recording a new album? :-k

Thanks, Magus. Did they play last?
Was it supposed to go that late?
No King Buzzo banter/ Jared acting as head bouncer?

It's February...December to March is prime Melvins recording season.  I'm guessing there were rehearsals to lead up to the show that served as a good warm up for putting some stuff together for the studio.  Ah, to be a fan of the hardest working band in showbuisness . . . . . . we're spoiled really.

This was a great show. Had a great time. Youth of America was a highlight as well as History of Bad Men. Met Brent Hinds of Mastodon while he was walking about trying to get backstage. The security guard did not let him through. I thought that was funny. He managed to persuade another guard and got through eventually. I was kind of shocked he was about my height. (5'6")  Also got to meet Toshi which was a real treat. Very nice guy. The other bands on the bill weren't really my cup of tea. But they were all great in their own ways. Blonde Redhead would probably be the only band I may check out a bit more of. Melvins sounded incredibly tight. Pretty shocking considering they have not been doing the four piece in a about a year. You wouldn't notice from the show they put on. I took some pictures. most of them did not come out very good. but i hate being that guy who has his phone in the air so I just snap em and put em away and enjoy the show.

I got into Deerhoof a little, about 5 years ago. I saw them on some Pitchfork show on IFC.
I got two of their CDs. I kind of hit the wall, soon after.

Yes, they played last. I showed up around 11 pm and caught Deafheaven's set and all the signs showed the Melvins going on at 12:30 am and that's exactly when they started. Curfew was 1:30 am and that's when they ended. From what I read the next day, the festival was supposed to be two days, but they cancelled Sunday since who schedules an all day festival on Superbowl Sunday.

Buzz's solo on Youth of America was stunning.

Virtually no spaces in between songs. One ended and another one started. Absolutely NO banter until the very end of History of Bad Men when Jared started playing with a portable Siren and shining a flashlight at the audience.

I can't stress enough how amazingly tight they were. It was like a greatest 'hits' set of the 2006-2012 4 man lineup.

Deja Vu moment: When I saw them at the same venue in May 2012 on the Unsane tour, Jared hopped on the amp during Youth of America. He did the same thing this time as well during the same song.

Oscar

Any info on filming/taping of this? I haven't come up with anything so far.

Idle, did you guys film this one?

Son of a fucking cracker that is a great setlist, I hope the next tour is like this. Then they can crank out some songs off hold it in. I hope they play a history of bad men more, that was amazing live
